Free League Publishing is expanding on the options available to those playing their official Alien: The Roleplaying Game with the Colonial Marines Operation Manual. Lock n' load, power up your equipment and see if you can put your training to the test against Xenomorphs and more.

Colonial Marines Operations Manual - Alien RPG

Colonial Marines Operations Manual // Alien: The Roleplaying Game

This is a complete campaign module for their roleplaying game which has been written by Sci-Fi novelist Andrew E.C. Gaska and Paul Elliot. It provides you with loads of ways to play a proper open-world campaign using the iconic Colonial Marines we know and love from the Aliens film.

Colonial Marines Art #1 - Alien RPG

Colonial Marines Art // Alien: The Roleplaying Game

Included within the set you're going to find...

  • History & Organization – The inside story of the illustrious Colonial Marine Corps.
  • Creating Marines – Expanded character creation rules for grunts of all kinds.
  • Weapons & Vehicles – An extensive chapter with new gear, gloriously illustrated.
  • The Frontier War – The framework and backstory for a Colonial Marines campaign.
  • Factions on the Frontier – The powers that be and their dark agendas.
  • Marine Missions – Six thrilling missions for your Marines, playable in any order.
  • The Endgame – The showdown against a deadly enemy, finally revealed.

This is a neat way to approach playing out games of Alien without going down the traditional route. It's always fun playing as hapless scientists and explorers but it should give things an entirely new spin once you introduce Marines with their big ol' weapons!

Colonial Marines Art #2 - Alien RPG

Colonial Marines Art // Alien: The Roleplaying Game

When it comes to playing in the Alien universe you don't need to play against a deadly Xenomorph when you dive into a campaign. You could instead find yourself dealing with the machinations of Weyland Yutani and the other corporations that exist in this dark industrial Sci-Fi future. After all, you probably count as decidedly expendable.

I love that the book comes packed with missions and a finale to build up to. It would be very fun to read this and see where it goes!

Are you tempted by this book?
