More Konflikt ’47 Reveals For Warlord’s Weird World War Wargame
June 5, 2025 by brennon
Warlord Games revealed more this week concerning their new edition of the 28mm Weird World War wargame, Konflikt '47. We talked with Warlord at UK Games Expo (see above) and then got a better look at some of the new miniatures in a showcase this week.
Stahltruppen // Konflikt '47
Leading the way, we have the Stahltruppen, which act as heavy infantry for the Axis forces on the tabletop. They are all but impervious when it comes to small arms fire and can then dish out a heck of a lot of firepower in return. When armed with guns that would have normally been strapped to tanks, this means that the Axis are able to rip up the battlefield utterly!

The new miniatures look fantastic and really ramp up that Weird World War vibe that you get with Konflikt '47. You could imagine these folks blasting their way through the rubble hunting down Allied troops.
Back up the Stahltruppen, you also have the spider-like creation for the Axis, the Vogelspinne.

This agile, six-legged Panzermech can be equipped with a variety of different weapons to best suit the situation at hand. It also doesn't really need to care about the ruins that lie around it, clambering over collapsed buildings to hunt down its targets.
On the other side of things, you have the Firefly Drop Troopers who are going to be soaring onto the battlefield for the Allies.

These soldiers specialise in lightning-fast raids using a mixture of Rift-powered weapons to take down any number of foes. The repulsor packs then allow them to blast back up into the sky, avoiding the inevitable counterattack from the Axis.

These Firefly Drop Troopers aren't going to be able to take down every foe and that's where the Allies could call on the Linebacker Jump Walker, which will be crashing down onto the battlefield to take down armoured targets.

Drop this into the breach and use its absolutely formidable mix of weapons to blast holes in Axis armour, be it a regular tank or one of the Panzermechs. A pretty badass new miniature that should be able to turn the tide in your Weird World War battles.
All of these miniatures are going to be available as plastic kits and the first releases for Konflikt '47 are lined up for September, so not long away at all!
More Konflikt '47 Information
As well as the news on the new plastic kits, Warlord also shared the key points that folks will need to know about the new edition of the game...
- Incredible Gameplay: Konflikt ’47 is a standalone game, but draws from familiar and renowned elements from Bolt Action: Third Edition, and greatly expands upon them. Bolt Action fans will recognise such elements as drawing Order Dice to determine activation order, pin markers, cover saves, and Platoon Selectors to build an army. Exciting new mechanics to reflect the power of Rift-technology are central to the experience, as are the named heroes that will lead forces. Konflikt ‘47 is designed to produce amazing, narrative-driven games, packed with action.
- July 4th Pre-Orders: Konflikt ‘47 will be coming to pre-order at the start of July – so that’s what the mysterious countdown on the website was all about!
- Late September Release: No need to wait until Christmas – Konflikt ‘47 will hit shelves around the world towards the end of September this year.
- Free PDF Army Lists: Making Konflikt ’47 as accessible as possible, the army lists will be available as free digital downloads from day one. These living documents will be regularly updated as the game expands. There are plans in place for the story of Konflikt ’47 to evolve over many years – meaning a regular supply of new units, new miniatures, and new rules!
- Existing Models Fully Compatible: Already own a Konflikt ‘47 force, or thinking about diving straight in? Good news – the entire current range will be fully compatible, so you don’t have to worry about your units becoming obsolete. They may not be exactly the same as they are in the current edition (some may have exciting new abilities!), but all your miniatures will have a unit entry in the new army lists.
- Operation Valentine: 1947 sees a joint US/Commonwealth assault on the Axis fortress-city of Stuttgart. While the shattered remnants of the city might seem like the end of the world, this is just the opening phase of a much larger campaign, upon which the outcome of the war in Europe might well hinge. Named heroes (and villains!) will carve out their reputation, and set in motion an evolving narrative over the course of many years. We can’t emphasise enough the importance of characters to both gameplay, and the Konflikt ’47 universe.
I like that we're getting pre-orders so early, so folks can work out what armies they are going to be starting out with when the new edition of the game lands. Making the existing range compatible will also be a welcome update for those who already have Konflikt '47 collections.
I also like the stronger focus on the heroes and villains of the piece, which should start to set Konflikt '47 apart from the likes of Bolt Action. You obviously want a bit of the Wolfenstein Hollywood action hero awesomeness in your games, so why not push it properly?
Are you going to be diving into Konflikt '47?

I do like me some weird tech and the Linebacker looks cool but the Vogelspinne is…. no. The legs are way to fragile for a tank IMHO.
If the Vogelspinne belonged to Lieutenant Hubert Gruber from Allo Allo, would he still call it my little tank? I wonder?
Nonetheless, I do have a small German force for Konflikt, and if the game is good, they will be coming out.
My little schpeider tank, maybe?
Good one. 🙂
Du spinnst ja doch.
Meine kleine Spinne ist soo cute …
Love the big stompy Linebacker. I don’t play Konflikt but I would consider getting the Linebacker just to build and paint up (i.e. add to my pile of shame).
Good to see the sculpts look a little better with this V2 release. Plus with Dust Tactics dead then this could bring in some of that Weird War crowd.
Such a shame that system died / killed itself / was killed by its owners (take your pick, probably all of the above?).
It is a tricky genre to do justice though as there’s very little media that could help introduce folk.
Maybe selling it as WW2 skirmish game with unique guns and big heroes is the way to go?
I dunno, I figured K47 was always hobbled by the fact that it was seen as just Bolt Action with a few weird bits tacked on. Sounds like the new plan is to make it stand out, for it to be its own entity separate from BA. We will see if that works.
(and Dust Tactics was a fun system controlled by terrible people. It deserves a second life away from the scammers that owned it.)
I’m more excited about this than I was for Bolt Action 3rd ed. It’ll be fun to get my old armies out 🙂
Looking forward to those Firefly Drop Troopers
I hope they expand the lore a bit, explore what’s in the rift, introduce some more horror elements along with the mechs and weird weapons.
