Magic: The Gathering is constantly growing, as Wizards of the Coast is bringing us a brand new deck of cards for Strixhaven.

Strixhaven Sneak Peek // Magic: The Gathering

The new set puts players in the midst of Strixhaven's School of Mages, where they will be required to go back to school to brush up their fantastical skills, and join a college of their choice.

There are several houses that can be chosen, and will certainly resonate with lots of different players:

Prismari: Players who are the artsy type. Those who were more likely to have a pen to paper drawing, or centre stage of the upcoming school production. The Prismari are encouraged to "express yourself with the elements". So if you want to wield your emotions on your sleeve, Prismari might be the house for you.

Lorehold: Are you a researcher? One who has their head in folklore and history? The Lorehold are keen on an adventure, finding every clue and detail for purpose. If you like to take the helm before embarking, with preparation in place - Lorehold will be right up your street.

Silverquill have the gift of language. Whether you are keen to wield a pen or quill to construct pages of enthusiasm or are quick-witted and fast enough to return a sharp insult - the Silverquill are equipped with the ability to craft their language. Perfect for a spell or two!

Quandrix are for those who are mathematically minded. Quick maths and even quicker logic. Are you somebody with the ability to work out the hardest of equations and put them into practice? Maths was merely witchcraft before it was understood - and the Quandrix had used this knowledge to master their skills.

And finally, the Witherbloom. These green-thumbed beings resonate with nature. Using their abilities in combination with the natural world around them. If you are one who enjoys the wind in their hair and the change into a new season - the Witherbloom maybe your next major.

The new decks will come with 81 new cards, laid across five different commander decks - by house.

After reading about all of the different houses, I know that I am going to have difficulty committing to one! On one hand, I am one to have her head stuck in books most of the time, so Lorehold resonates with me. But nothing can quite beat the power of nature for me, so the Witherbloom have sold their enrollment in my perspective.

Magic the Gathering Strixhaven will be available to purchase on April 23rd this year, so be sure to check in on your friendly local gaming store to see if they are stocking the new sets.

What house are you drawn to?
