The folks at South London Warlords announced the official miniature coming to Salute 53 in April 2026 this year. Saladin rides into battle with a new miniature designed in conjunction with Wargames Atlantic.

Saladin, the Victorious King, was sculpted by Thai Ngo and painted here by Kev Dallimore. Here's some of the information on the sculpt from the sculptor himself...
“Saladin, or Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub, was the founder of the Ayyubid Dynasty of Muslim Egypt and Syria. He was one of the main Muslim leaders in the fight against the Christians between 1174 and 1192. While visual references to the man are limited to minted coins and low in specific detail, the team and I pulled from other visuals created by a variety of artists over the intervening centuries (paintings, statues, etc) and coalesced them (and contemporary armour styles) into the figure you see.”
This is going to be quite the impressive new addition to the Salute goodie bag because it comes in plastic! If you want to get your hands on one, it will be available to the first 5000 guests, included free within said goodie bag when you walk through the doors.

It's great to have an excellent, larger-than-life character as part of the goodie bag this year and most importantly, it's in plastic. He is presented charging forward upon his steed, sword held high as he crashes into his enemies alongside his fellow cavalrymen. There is also a Salute logo added to the front of the base so you can commemorate the attendance of the event.

Ooooooh…. Imagine cutting of the horses legs and paint the mini as a ghost… hover-horse!
Spooky! 👻
Or just remove the horse completely and replace it with a big pile of lettuce leaves…
I see what you did there 🥬
I don’t know how many people might get the Burger Time game reference.
A great looking model in plastic far and away long after my first real army build. Applause to the sculptor and painter for the photo shoot.
