A new card game has appeared on Kickstarter that appears to have everyone excited, having already gone over the £3,000,000 marker (at time of writing). It's time for a game of Exploding Kittens!

Exploding Kittens

Exploding Kittens is made by Elan Lee, Shane Small and Matthew Inman, the man behind the webcomic series The Oatmeal, whose artistic style is immediately apparent.

The game essentially takes the form of an incredibly weird game of Russian roulette. Players take turns to draw cards. Should they draw an Exploding Kitten, they are out of the game.

However, all hope is not lost as they can diffuse the deadly Kittens.

Defuse Cards

Or they can use various other tactical cards, which allow them to skip their turn, peek at the deck, or even secretly relocate exploding kittens to come up with cruel strategies.

Exploding Kittens Gaming Cards

As you can see, this game is random in every meaning of the word. With cards like dangerous back hair, goat wizards and pigacorns taking their place alongside cute, cuddly kittens of death. The game will most likely be a hit with fans of The Oatmeal, but its simple game mechanics and the prospect of blowing kittens up will no doubt draw in other gamers to give this a go.

Do you like the idea of Exploding Kittens? Have you chipped into the Kickstarter yet?
