The scum and villainy of the galaxy were on display this week with another preview from Fantasy Flight Games for Star Wars: Destiny showing off new Yellow Characters from Empire At War.

Yellow Character Card Fan

The new Yellow cards bring in more tricks and tactics for you to use on the tabletop and develop your underhanded tactics. It's all about manipulating the board state in your favour and surprising the enemy.

Two of the characters that really caught my eye from the set were Bossk, who has the ability to move around damage nice and effectively...

...and Cad Bane. I really like that we're seeing more of these bounty hunters being thrown into the mix (still no Boba Fett though!). Cad Bane, in particular, is brutal with the well-known card, Fast Hands, which would make him quite the gunslinger.

There's also his pistol to throw into the mix as well which in of itself has the ambush effect, allowing you to take another go.

One thing I am very conscious of however is how the action economy in the game is going to feel after this release. One of the defining things about Destiny is the back and forth between players, and over the last couple of months the player base has had to contend with people 'cheating' that by taking multiple actions with a combination of cards.

Some of these Yellow characters seem to be adding more to this 'cheat' mentality in the game, especially at odds with the way they want to build supports and resource collection into the game with this set too.

I guess we shall have to see how it all pans out!

What do you think of the new cards?
