About the Project
Creating a sector of space for my Star Wars RPG Group, I didn't want it to be within the known planets of the Star Wars canon. This allows me to have some freedom with the sector in creating a living environment for my players.

Asherah Nova is a standard terrestrial planet but unlike other planets in the galaxy, a single, large man-made ring circled its equator. Serving as the shipyards the ring is an immense scaffold in space, bridged and augmented with enormous habitats and machinery.
Inside the scaffolding is a myriad of ship skeletons and other craft, with tiny bright dots drifting to and from the ships under construction with the habitats of the station.
The orbital ring had a total inhabitable area of less than three hundred thousand square kilometres, thus making its livable space smaller than a typical planetary substation.
The majority of goods that past into and out of the Sector pass through Asherah Nova, and it is here that goods and cargo manifests are inspected, recorded and taxed before being transferred from local freighters or massive space barges that run the trade routes into the Galactic Core.
This requires a huge number of services, and the entire system is overseen by guild masters personally appointed by the nobility of each of the houses. Tariffs are collected, filling the coffers of the noble houses, but they, in turn, pay a sizable proportion to the Empire.
Corruption, smuggling, bribery, tampering, and theft are inevitable, and Princess Xedvan is the undisputed master of the darker aspects of the trade hub. Her base of operations is the luxurious palace at the centre of the trade sector on the largest of the orbital ring, and her power that on part of ring she can in a whim shut down most operations within Asherah Nova, and thus The Reach.
The shipyards are where her influence is weakest; here the mechanics and shipwrights are allied in powerful and belligerent trade unions that keep her at bay. The entire collection of myriad orbital bodies and stations are protected by an array of defensive systems. Those fools who attempt to raid Asherah Nova rarely if ever get a second chance.

This outpost was originally constructed by the Trade Federation a few years before the blockade and then the Battle of Naboo, Cryocia Outpost, as it was named, was designed as a commercial facility positioned along a more prominent trade route at the time. The outpost was built to accommodate a large number of permanent vendors, including living quarters and recreational facilities for the residents and administrative staff.
With the rise of the Empire, the Imperial Military took control of the station due to its placement along trade routes and was renamed as Imperial Hub Station KC166.
The Empire uses the station to monitor traffic along the hyperspace route between Asherah Prime and Janutra and to be used as a staging area for local strikes as necessary. To this end, two Pursuit-class cruisers, two Interdictor-class cruisers, and one Victory-class Star Destroyer have been assigned to duties staged from KC166 under the direct command of Grand Moff Kyreiken.
While those who control the station changed several times over the years, many of its operations and functions stayed a constant. The Trade Federation used the Outpost for purely commercial reasons. The Empire has continued many of the commercial functions while adding a military presence.

The New Republic is in its infancy, five years after the defeat of Emperor Palpatine at the hands of the rebellion, the galaxy is still feeling the effects of his rule.
Criminals and Imperial Warlords are now everywhere, and the New Republic is unable to, or are inadequately equipped to offer help partly due to the infighting with its ranks.
As parts of the galaxy are still trying to come to terms with no Imperial control, Athoth’s Reach, a section of the galaxy on the outer rim has to weather a new threat, that of a returning of an Imperial Grand Moff from the unknown regions, annexing The Reach under their control.

After the Clone Wars and the Republic starts to transform into the Empire it was reported that the planet was used as a Jedi retreat during Order 66. The Emperor dispatch one of the Emperors Eye’s to investigate the reports and found no trace, so either Cvarcaya IX is just a stop on the way to an even more secluded hiding-place, or the Jedi who go there succumb to the dangers of the planet.
However, the Emperor saw some potential in the location of the planet and ordered a project designated bolthole that would allow the empire to construct an orbital staging and construction base out of the way, this would allow the Empire to explore the Unknown Regions.
