The mek released the Big Buggy for use in the skid with an “orky” note:

I used a rust effect from dirty down. Not the result i know from the old model mates. A agrax wash doesn't help much, actually it pooled the rust in the corners. i later used a matt varnish with my airbrush. This helped a little bit. Using Black Templer contrast paints on ork parts is quite nice, as can be seen on the big shoota.

After all colours were covering up and decals were applied, i used a blister sponge to weather the model. First i used a red brown, second metal. Concentrating on the edges, were the the main colour will be worn down first.

The driver was painted seperatly and can be in game removed, when needed. Next some  gubbins: scrab grabber

So is this the end? Serious, No!

4 more months to go Gorkamorka.  100 more teefs to upgrade. I have a weirdboy who deserves paint, another vehicle, some bikes and more boys. 3 left over buildings to be done.

“Wheels or tracks?!” “Not tracks, too slow. Boss wants somethin’ fast. Take round thin'” “How does round look?”

"Rockits are niiice." "Needs moar plates!"
"Put some fastener things there, there and there" "Ockie, dockie. How about some gubbins?" "Later in Mektown. The Boss has a list. Ah, there he comes."
"EVERYBODY GET IN! EVERY GIT! YEAH, IT IS OK TO HOLD ON THE SIDE? WHAT DO YOU WANT? SAFTY INSTRUCTIONS?! BOYS DO I REALLY HAVE TO THINKS FOR MOAR THAN ONE BOY?" "YOU BOYS I WANT MORE DAKKA THERE AND THERE." "Ok Boss"
"Gubbins and dakka"
"Now some paints over it." "Boss wants yelp. What about the underside corrosion?" "What you talking about? Put some paint over it, bcause what u can't see, is not there."

So far from the mekshop.

I tried thinned down contrast Iyanden Yellow. Works quite well. May shine a litte bit more than a wash. But i will use later an matt varnish anyway, which works quile well for me. For the wheels i use contrast Black Templar. Then i will wear all down a bit with a sponge.

What a little stingy scorpi. Outside in the slid you can find much bigger ones, than this one. Those i would avoid. What a little stingy scorpi. Outside in the slid you can find much bigger ones, than this one. Those i would avoid.

Well i used this time mostly contrast paints and worked out quite well. Added some details and from this point no additional work had to be done. Ork vehicles will be very thankfull for those paints i think.

Next we have the Ketta/Trakk with the driver Agronak:

The model is from Kromlech and i changed not much. The shoota holder was turned by 180° and placed nearer to the driver so the gunner has more room

I painted the first ones quite fast and thought i should slow down. So i painted some more terrain. This time from GW Mek store set and i used a quick paint guide. I also wanted to see if i could implete this techniques into my vehicles.

Works quite nice. Maybe not so fast, as the stream may imply. And some things i changed a bit, because this is just not the way i would do this. But the result is quite nice.

And then was february. I was allowed to start on my first 50 teefs of the mob. See first entry for what to come. Assembly was not so hard:

The ketta is from Kromlech, The spanna boy and boss are from GWs old gorkamorka range. Some head swaps from Kromlech and Spellcrow. My mob theme will we punks or punky orks. No future for us 😉 Connecting colour in the mob will be yellow. Especially yellow pants.

People noticed the fort looked too new and unused. Yeah they were right. Again i used much agrax earthshade wash and then i drybrushed the whole with a mix of white + sahara brown. This gave the fort the finish it needed.

A fort to die for part 2 - a continuation

Still not february i had some more time to finish some ork buildings:

Ork Tower:

A fort to die for part 2 - a continuation

Those are already washed, but still need the drybrushing.

But then february was there and i was allowed to start on the first 50 teefs of orks. ‘ere we go!

One of the things i ordered from Kromlech Scenery was the orkenburg fort, which i insanly wanted to upgrade with rivet and nuts heads. These i made with a green stuff world set.

I recommend superglue and latex glooves. Or you fingers will smell for days like burned MDF.I recommend superglue and latex glooves. Or you fingers will smell for days like burned MDF.

Painting those took some serious time of the chart. I started with a basecoat of black and used DIY paints for walls or wallpaper from the hard ware store. First was a layer of mixed grey blue. And then i drybrushed those with light gray, which i added later some more white to. This was the basis for the detail work:

A fort to die for

The details took more time than the drybrushing, but is totally worth. Btw. i added some supermagnets inside of the seperate parts so the fort dont falls appart easily. The first part i added the details was the gate:

Then i added details to the corner pieces:

For the waiting time i had to fill something in.

On the last black friday i orderd some orcs, gubbins and buildings.

I really like the kromlech scenery range. So i wanted to start on these, because orcs were forbidden. But delivery time took some time.. much time 😉 So i started on other things first, which already layed around. Had some Micro Art Studio Scrapyard hardfoam hills, which i did first:

That was easier, than i thought first. That was easier, than i thought first.

Used a army green spray coat as basis and added then some real metal corrosion paint. The earth parts were painted with a drab earth paint. After this some more weathering with more rust effect paints and what i had in my bins. Almost used all of them somewhere. Added some different coloured parts to break the green. Then some drybrushuing and much agrax earthshade wash. Really like the result.

For the next i painted some scatter terrain which layed around for a very long time. Kraken mats Apo-scatter terrain:

From november to february is a long time.

Did those mostly the same way, but with a wider paint range.

And then i was lucky to find a fairly priced mint old buggy box.

From november to february is a long time.

The mob, for some teefs.
