About the Project

Picked this up when it was Kickstarted. Over the last little while got it completed in pieces, without really intending to. When I realised how close it was to being complete, I pushed through to get it done!

This Project is Completed

I was advised that, for an upcoming one-shot Steve was going to run, it would be good to have a few undead type creatures: Zombies, ghosts, skeletons etc. also a bunch of wizards.
I delved into Dungeon Saga for the source of the undead and got to quickly painting them.

Quick was the goal.

Also seen above: Nearly Naked Zombies, Regular Joe Zombies and the limited colour selection used to keep things focused and quick.

9 Dec 21: I dunno... they're still zombies

Given that the Armoured Zombies are in uniform, I had to find another way to easily differ them for DS gameplay. They got some extra details you see. A couple of Citadel Technical paints and a little bit of basing. Now there’s Bloody Armoured Zombie, Mossy Armoured Zombie and Oozy Armoured Zombie. 😀

Going through the Cabinet of Collection, I picked up the box labelled Undead and the need to empty this box struck me.
I used Contrast paints and time between other things to chew through this batch. Batch painting as well. The first of each was a test, I then did all the rest later based on this lot.

The Elf character from DS. I’d done the basic and the Advanced version of her.

22 Jun 21: A wizard is never early or late blah blah blah

As previously mentioned, when I needed Zombies, I also needed wizards.
It provoked me to get this guy done. Also previously shown as complete in the Elf project as complete. Some of the earlier steps here:

The other two heroes were painted more recently in fairly short order: Contrast paint and glazing techniques mainly. I was getting other things done at the time and don't think I took any progress shots...The other two heroes were painted more recently in fairly short order: Contrast paint and glazing techniques mainly. The 3D terrain elements. The doors, the bookcases. The treasure chests!

The last piece there is an open book. I’d almost missed it. It just needs varnishing, and it’ll be done. All the enemies and three of the four heroes also need varnishing.

But with that done, my Core set for Dungeon Saga is completely painted!

Thats a good chunk taken out of the Grey Pile. Plenty to go yet though.

I’ve still got the expansions, but similarly, various chunks have been painted randomly. I can focus on an expansion at a time to get them done.
