The core releases for this month are the two modular books which can be used to set the scene really easily during your roleplaying games. These new options allow you to craft urban environments which are often a great place for a clash in a Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder adventure.

Both the larger and the smaller books you get fully laminated surfaces which you can doodle on and tweak to suit whatever kind of game you enjoy playing. As you can see from the previews, the wire-bound spine means that the books flat and are nice and easy to use too. You can even put a couple of books together in order to craft larger landscapes for bigger battles.

Talking of bringing a couple of books together, they also have another of their Little Book series which comes with some fun new expansion options to the larger maps.

This might also be a good fit for those who want to just play out a quick encounter rather than something massive and session-hogging. Perhaps your adventurers have run into the town guard or a band of bandits on the bridge pictured above?

Scenery Sets

If you want to add a few more interactive objects into the mix on these maps then you could drop on some plastic or resin pieces of 3D terrain but the folks at Loke BattleMats have also produced these static cling sticker packs which will be very useful.

Town Trimmings - Loke Battle Mats

There are three options for you to pre-order right now. You've got Town Trimmings which is great for adding the clutter of the city and the kind of things you'd find within stores that you might frequent. You've also got the Magic Effects set...

...and the War & Siege collection which would be good for those bigger battlefields. I love that there are a few nods here and there towards famous D&D campaigns of note. I particularly like the flaming magical lollipop!

I remember using these kinds of stickers when I dived into "choose your own adventure" sticker books as a kid. There is something fun about breaking out these and slapping them down. As a whole, I do enjoy the re-usability of these books and the fact that it's nice and easy to store them after your game is a massive bonus for me.

Are you going to be picking up some of the new books and sticker packs from Loke BattleMats this month?
