awesome concepts and awesome skills 😉
As is often the case, the high detail in the concept art will be extremely hard to realize at a 28 or 30mm scale. (In particular the head that they show twice.) Be interesting to see if they can pull it off.
You are correct. Looking at that helmet for example, it would most likely need two parts to replicate the double neck guard.
But a concept drawing is just that, a concept, an idea that illustrates the overall feel of what the the studio wants to create. They are very different from design drawings from later in the process which take into account other factors such as limitations of mould release
I reckon a top sulptor could include all the details or most at least. Especially if working with a 3 up. When photo lithographic 3d printing becomes viable to mass produce, watch out for some stunning minis! lol
The concept art looks pretty neat. Urban Wars is an off shoot of a game called Void that was produced by I-Kore back in the day. When I-Kore went under, Urban Mammoth picked it up and redesigned most the the armies and their fluff and made it more of a skirmish game whereas Void was a units game. My friends and I didn’t like the new direction the Urban Wars was headed so we never picked it up and stayed with Void. However, the last pick shows the man in the gas mask and the lizard head. The Viridians in the Void days used to train dinosaurs to use as mounts and weapons. So if Urban Wars is bringing back dinosaurs for the Viridians, I might have to watch them.
Urban War already has Saurians, just not a specific sergeant:

Check there and the Urban Mammoth site too. I like the updated Viridians, but I think the Junker exosuits have become a bit too stylised personally compared to the old ones.
Yes back in the good old days I was a Varidian player as well. I liked most of the line they did even thou looking back they where a bit to simple and flat. Today models have great detail and a level of flare that most of I-Kore’s line would not grab your attention. I hope this is a sign of greater stuff to come.
I was never overly impressed with the initial figure ranges. I only have one of the Viridian figures, a female chaingunner ( http://theminiaturespage.com/lib/pics/ikore/11104.jpg )
She is my heavy stubber for my Orlock necromunda gang.
