Wargames Atlantic are now taking pre-orders for their collaboration with Zombiesmith! This Quar's War: Clash Of Rhyfles is a new two-player boxed game based on the strange creations of Zombiesmith, now available in 28mm plastic and with all of the gubbins you need to start playing.

Here's some of the background on the mysterious Quar and their odd conflict that seems to have been going on for many years...

"It seems the Quar have always been at war. When the first wandering clans of insect gatherers built their low, mud-walled buildings, it was as much to keep out other Quar as the wild animals. As they first learned to make tools to get food, they quickly learned to make tools to defend themselves. The mud walls quickly became fortified citadels, and then city-states. In five thousand years of civilization, the only constants of their culture have been the changing of the seasons and the threat of war."

This boxed set then starts to explore the Long War that has been going on since the Quar worked out how to beat up their rivals. The set itself comes with twenty-four new hard-plastic Quar (twelve as Crusaders and twelve as Croftyrans) alongside appropriate bases.

The miniatures are looking great. The unique look of the original metal Quar has been retained and then reinvented in plastic. The various modular parts on the sprues allow you to make some valiant soldiers for both sides. I you know the quality of Wargames Atlantic plastic then you'll be familiar with what you're getting here. Plenty of well-detailed miniatures with good options for weapons.
