Next up on Infinity Uprising Week we're looking at the trooper profiles for the Japanese Secessionist Army.
No longer associated with Yu Jing, you will notice these profiles are in plain white to denote their unaffiliated status.
Carlos goes through each trooper profile in detail and discusses how changes in the lore have affected the characters abilities.

Fireteam options is masive… Hope we will get the same for Ikari and Starco
Great changes for the JSA.
Fatality L1 is +1 DAM to BS weapons using the BS attribute. Fatality L2 is a crit on a 1.

Yeah, Linking Mushashi, we don’t know how the Tankos are, but this could be awesome, maybe as much as Domarus linking everywere or a Domaru Specialist!
I don’t play infinity but the art and models are always amazing. Plus the enthusiasm from the guys is infectious!
Cool new profiles. In particular the Ryuken Unit-9 – both profiles good replacement for the Raiden and the Daiyokai Dengekitai in both versions and the Kempeitai with the MSV2.

I have to say one thing about that brawler mini: i was looking at it and thinking… mmmh it seems female even i can’t spot the boobs… then i spot the heels. Good job! I could tell it was a female from the overall physique and that’s not easy to do!
The Heavy Infantry looks great and having musashi in a fireteam sounds crazy good.
The more I see, the more I want this… Really liking everything so far!
The flexibility in the fireteams has got to be the go-to thing for innovation in an army list. The tactical possibilities now are crazy.

Hum i’m a little dispointed the daiyokai not full CC… the kuroshi rider without CC spécialist (protheion it would be fun , but not Martial art or natural born warrior ? ^^’)

I’m a Yujing player, I love the new IP miniatures. I don`t play japanese models, except for the Karakuris, so if I lose them, I will buy another sectorial that let me field them xD
The IP Samurai sounds great, and Motoko & Batou (sorry, I mean Ryuken-9 xD) profiles are insanely good. A ODD is always juicy. Now my chinese want some too…

I think the Daiyoki’s profile is about what I expected it. I like the minelayer Unit-9 with ODD. I’m not to hot on the new biker.

Well, well… interesting Sectorial: lots of short range and medium range troops, but little long range firepower and not many helpers (like smoke) to get close.

All the mix-and-match fire teams are interesting. But wasn’t that a Tohaa thing?
How will ‘old-fashioned’ fire teams compete in tournaments? Or will they get similar upgrades?
I imagine Tankos will be the reimagined Haramaki, and be a bit like a JSA version of a Magister the way they link with the Domaru.

I think your getting to mad too early. You don’t think C.B. will remove JSA troops without adding something back in to regular Yu-Jing?
That said Yu-Jing tears are like the finest wine so maybe we should let this run for a bit.

I’m with Carlos, Yu Jing all the way, BUT I do like the look of the new JSA….. a really good excuse to start a new army, at least I can use my Ninjas in both army’s. That little hint dropped by Carlos has also caught my attention, I cannot wait to see what could possibly be released for Yu Jing….
I really like the direction that CB is taking the JSA.
Ryuken unit 9 are going to be nightmare to deal with love their profile it gives nice balance between offense and defense, as for the Daiokai that thing will be unstoppable id backed up by Yojimbo and few smoke screens to get in good range or CC if facing easy targets, i might stick to using Kisume for close combat and cleaning up trash she is the same points as the bug guy and never failed me, which leads me to the huge downside of the entire force no visors beside x-visor which means fighting arianda or heavy TO lists(triple intruders with jaguar smoke screens for example) will be a nightmare. Despite the obvious flaws this will be one of the most fun armies to play no question there.
There is a lot going on with those fireteam options! Makes me more excited that this is just the beginning of a year of narrative focused game changing releases.

The Ryuken with SMG and Oniwaban with SMG might be pretty awesome. Move them up, drop them in suppressive, -9 to hit, -12 if you’re in cover.

Clearly I need to brush up on the ninjas and other JSA friendly characters from Yu Jing. I also had been holding off on getting some of the older models. My wallet is already screaming.

And, yes, the Ryuken-9 with HRL is basically the Raiden with HRL with a better second movement, minus 1pt of armour and a better pistol…

Arg, as a Yu Jing player I’m looking at those Unit-9 profiles wishing they weren’t seceding… that’s the Raiden, plus a profile that seems it might actually pull off some of the dumb midfield plays I’ve tried with the Kanren.
So, err, congrats to the traitorous Japanese criminals on their good fortune, I can only hope the armies of the StatEmpire will next meet you clad in the advanced HI armour you were forced to leave behind when you fled!

I was surprised to hear that the OYoroi HMG is being improved to AP, are we ever going to acknowledge that the miniature is clearly holding a spitfire?
So many good things here! i’m a little disapointed by the Daiyokai whom i hoped to be a CC crushing machine, but it’s still a good unit, i will love to link him with Domarus!!!

Nice information regarding the profiles and the future releases. I really like the HI profile despite the fact the miniature is the weakest part of the box in my opinion.
Unit-9 is fantastic! It costs every point spent on it.
These new profiles are very interesting. I love the possibilities offered by most of them.

These changes are really fleshing out the JSA faction. Unfortunately I’ll face them in the near future, since one of my mates is collecting them, so…
I don’t understand what any of that meant, but I’m probably going to buy it and figure it out.
Was tempted by the JSA before now I’m going to start a JSA force.
I don’t play infinity, so none of that made any scents to me. But that new guy got really excited, so I’m gonna say that it’s good! So what the hell I’m in!!

Great fan of the models, this release has motivated me to get back to painting up my infinity and trying to push it in local area.
Need to play more games beyond the starter sets to get a better understanding of profile videos.
Kempei with MSV2 is interesting. Add in one of the smoke throwers and you have a nice little mini sniper up to 24 inches.
Nice to see a cheaper version for Oniwaban, but to be honest, the Boarding Shotgun is still really satisfying on an infiltrator.
For Kuroshi, the CC weapon is interesting, but the biggest difference will be the dogged, imo.
Ryoken 9 seem like they should be two different sets of profiles. I’m sure I’ll use them both, they’re just really different… also, I expected Ghost in the Shell to show up in Aleph, not JSA. 😉
Daiyokay is the one I’m most interested in. Not only is it gorgeous, but it seems to have a decent mix of ranges for a model that is meant for CC.
Overall, I thought I’d be collecting AI (Yu Jing) models this year, but it looks like I’ll have to backfill my JSA after picking up this box. I need the Shikami and Mushashi, and I’m guessing there will be an SWC box in the near future as well.
I don’t see the leaked profile for hayabusa, that can form fireteam harris with aragoto..

Up until now I have been meh towards Infinity models (really because I feel my painting skills aren’t up to the task of giving them the glory they deserve). But the JSA is really making me rethink that. I envision seeing these as great troops in the Mantic Deadzone/Warpath universe. GCPS (corporate goons) and the Oniwaban and Kaizoku as scouts for the Enforcer faction.
And anything with mecha (Daiyokai Dengekitai) is always cool
