So much for excuses
Lovely job John. Come round to ours and bring your brush. Love the shoe lecture.
Not tank gibberish, but still appreciated.
will be using this when i paint these
Nice job!!!
Is that a…. *pushes up glasses* Coat of arms? 8)
great job on the medic
Always good to get a painting guide, especially with a conversion and from a talented chap with an interest in the subject matter.
Always good to see a tutorial from @johnlyons and with a paint range that I am just dipping a toe into, so seeing how good the coverage is was super helpful. Also enjoyed the helmet strap tangent ramble sir 🫡
You should have trolled everyone and painted the magazine as a smart phone
I thought John said nobody watches his 3 colours up videos, clearly nonsense!
Nice work
Nice work.
Good job john.
I’m so excited that I chose this time to get into Bolt Action! Can’t wait to play my first game. Now… The hardest part… Building and painting my first army! Haha
Looks good, interesting seeing historically painted versus custom armies/schemes
Nice work, John!
Great coats could make for some quick painting
The cross makes the difference !
Hope to use some of this for late war French.
Wow, that coat of matt varnish really made the difference. Quite incredible really, IMHO. Was it sprayed on or painted over, and which make of matt varnish?
I watched the game yesterday between Gerry and Kieran and I was just marvelling at how beautifully painted both armies were. Were all the figures your work?
both the armies in the demo game were my work yeah, following the work done in the tutorials 🙂
the varnish I use is AK Interactive Ultra Matt. Because it works best under camera and when airbrushed on (like it is here) it gives that perfect dull coat. Although it’s not the most resilient varnish, it can rub off over time and handling.
That’s interesting about it rubbing off. I have some that I’ve used but I’ve not really handled the figures much yet. I’ll need to try and source some Vallejo Mecha Matt instead.
Awesome tutorial. The medic looks great. I love the pose you gave him.
I wish army painter would bundle the above paints in a set for Bolt Action.
Love these kind of speed paint tutorials. Really helps motivate to get an army painted quickly and beautifully…now I only need a starter set 🙂
I like the idea of using the BAR magazine for a pack of smokes
It is too bad that credit is not give to the Canadian and British forces which hammer the bulge very hard from the north and cause great concern to the Germans.
This is a great tutorial.
MEDIC MEDIC great paint job on the figure John
Thanks very much for the great guide, still working on the painting skills
Thank you very much for the helpful painting guide!
Very useful as I am new to the game!
Your free hand red crosses are excellent! 😀
If only I could put these tips to use and…you know…tackle the pile of plastic I have sitting around. lol
Nice
The equipment information is very welcome
Nice to see some “real” painting tutorials on YouTube for us average people.
Commenting, for a chance to win 😊
Nice idea using the ammo mag as a pack of cigarettes.
I’m off to raid my bits boxes to see what I can repurpose.
Lovely paint guide
like the small conversion you did John and a new colour for the Americans BROWN whoop whoop
WILL be picking up some new winter armies in the near future I am sure
Love the little history lesson there
So tempted by the US minis
bam
a great tutorial once again which threw a large spotligh on my american pile of shaame which desperately needs some tlc
Love the idea of speed, don’t think I will ever get there. I just sit back and go slow, but the color ideas are great.
Thank you for the tutorial. I am switching to Army painter paints so this is very useful.
A very helpful guide, thank you very much!
I always found sticking to a type of paint style, do a few figures and see how it looks.
If you don’t like it, swap and move onto a different style/ colour/ pattern.
You end up with a variable looking army, realistic for the time I thought!
colour prime then base coat and a wash….call it done.
great job, well done John
