Next up for our Faction Guides for Wild West Exodus 2nd Edition Week we’re rounding up the The Lawmen in this steampunk skirmish game from Warcradle Studios.
Justin is joined by Chris and Stu from Warcradle as they discuss the backstory and gameplay style of these righteous lawbringers, as well as introducing us to a few of the Bosses, Faces and Hands that will be at your disposal.

Another well done faction chat. Have to agree that Lawmen have a lot of cool characters. Played few times with them and they fun fuction to run. Plus Magnum Peacemaker on Wyatt Earp looks so cool. 🙂

It looks like the puppies are available for almost any “American” faction. They seem to show up in the webstore for all of them.
Robot dogs with missile launchers, take my money.
The lawmen and outlaws are my favorite models, they just look awesome, can’t wait to paint them!

Oooh I think I just got sold on one of the Lawmen Bosses, working with the Warrior Nation. Hmmm yeah definitely like the idea of expanding that way 🙂
I went all in on Warrior Nation. Glad Bass Reeves is a crossover option. Actually, I really like the multi-faction option of 2nd edition all around.
Another exciting faction ! Mostly because of my love for old western movies.

Oh dear. This faction REALLY grabs me! Love the idea of takin’ Wyatt Earp and Lawman in this setting!
Something sinister about the lawmen of the old west… some of them seemed as bad as the outlaws, but they had a badge to justify their violence.

Interesting. I lile all the ‘real world’ charaters in tgis universe. If I was gping to pick these up I think it would have to be wild bill and the rangers or the infernal affairs. Ive recently seen some concept art for them too and they’re looking really interesting.
Possibly one for me in the future but at the moment I’m still very tempted by the watchers.
Loving the Lawmen! Fancy a bit of Bass Reeves action myself!
The models for this faction look great and a marshal supported by robots and mechanical dogs sounds awesome. Also sounds like a low model count faction, which is great for the slow painters of the world like me.
Simply cannot fault the mini’s for WWX, they are all so beautiful. This is my favourite faction in the game, who wouldn’t want the Earp’s and Holliday cleaning up their town, supported by robo-deputy’s and killer robo-dogs 😀 .
Fantastic theme around Mech Morgan 😀 . I may have to build a posse around it myself. Is flesh and blood Morgan still in the game ? As the mech was his legendary version in 1st ed.
Gun Servitors, Lawmen and Indian oh my. These gals and guys sound like fun.

Like many others, I too still have a very hard time choosing my faction. They all have some great characters and models!

So many characterful gangs to make with this faction. The prospect of mixing in some other faction elements sounds especially interesting.
Agree another great looking faction, maybe the one I’d pick if I started this game but lets see the outlaws as well
Like all the other factions, this faction is so full of flavor! Bass Reeves and Warrior Nation backup is my next faction.

…as you said Justin, two factions combined is a good thing to do. I like the style of the lawmen.
The Lawmen faction look so cool, but i`m still gonna stick with the WN.
Like the way that Bass Reeves can take WN units in a lawman force, but can you take Bass reeves in a WN force ??
Turns out that Bass Reeves was born into slavery in July 1838, and died in January 1910. He also had the honour being the first ever black lawman, and in his service he was credited with arresting more than 3,000 felons. He also shot and killed 14 outlaws in self-defence, so if he can be added to the WN he`s in.
I do like all the named characters in the lawman faction, plus they look cool!
I wonder were I could get a Kurt Russell head for Wyatt earp

Now this is my faction!!!
I have Wyatt, doc and some deputies but really want Morgan and his law bots AND bass reeves with his tribal alliance!
There theme really is what makes me like them the best though. Trying to do their best and keep the public safe (ish).

Tombstone posse, Morgan’s Automatons, Hickcock’s Rangers and the Infernal Inverstigators all appeal to me. So hook me up, baby. But where’s the Duke and Dino?
I’m loving Morgan Earp – I think he has to be one of the most characterful models in the game.
I have Gunfight at Red Oak on Pre order, so i can see this faction expanding from the Lawman models in that set …… Can I have all the factions …. *smacks self … of course you can’t … *Bad Beardragon14
I think at this point I may be caught between playing Lawmen or playing Outlaws. 😀
Helena Handbasket from Infernal Affairs sounds like a really cool character. I’d definitely be interested in more of her story.
Again they sound great, but I’d love to see some minis on the table as well as the pictures.
Really liking those dogs, look really cool
Another good chat. I hope there is more lore development in the new version as that was one of the great aspects of the original and created some very cinematic scenes.
I really think this might be the faction. I like the smaller size of their units and the more background that each tends to have. I like that they are basically vigilantes.

I’ve had the Bass Reeves model for a while just because it’s a really nice sculpt. Sounds like picking up a few Warrior Nation models could be a smart move!
..but mostly I guess I’m looking to those Infernal Affairs models that were previewed in a previous video!

I am loving this week, but i am a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see a few painted Lawmen or Outlaws.
I don’t suppose you guys would consider an OK Corral scenario game ?

Unique time period – I don’t know how many games are set in this sort of steampunk-y Wild West era, but I like it. Good faction diversity, too.
