We spoke to Tim King at Mantic's 'Kings of War' table. They are running participation/demo games of Kings of War at the 750 point level. They are currently refining the second edition rules focusing on army balance following their recent successful Kickstarter!
Mantic and I are like Polar Likes…Someday Maybe.
This could be a huge breakthrough year for Kings of War given all the developments in WH Fantasy (for good and for ill). Not bad force sizes for demo games either!
Kings of war is for me one of the better fantasy wargames out there. I lack the time to paint up the large armies these days, but I must admit the couple of times I’ve played it, I have found it much more enjoyable than the current incarnation of fantasy,
But did you actually get to play @bintykins ?

The Plastic modular table looks nice for detail but the squares are a bit too obvious the way it’s been flocked, do they have the city board there too? (Not for KoW though).

im getting back into wargaming after a a long time off and i think KoW is gonna be the game im gonna get into. It seems to play so well and with the new rules coming out it might be time for a starter set 🙂
A few of my gaming friends are looking at starting fantasy again, but they had stopped previously due to burning out. Might have to point them toward KoW for a change of pace.
Kings of war has always looked fun, so… much… painting.
I’ll stick to skirmish level games, and backed Infestation. I can’t wait for that to drop.

We need more companies with great games like this to wake up GW so they don’t act like they are untouchable.
Wonder if one of the demo armies was Mr Rentons, he’s been promising to finish his army for at least two years!

That reminds me that i have a ton of undead to paint… plus some Nuns and their lovely pumas O_o

dam you mantic, I picked up a copy of mars attack with a free copy of the miniatures rule book. good customer service considering how busy it was
