This year's Mind Sports Olympiad plays host to loads of different tournaments and board games, including the unique meta-event that is the Eurogames World Championship.

The Eurogames World Championship is worked out among the players with the highest top five Pentamind scores in Eurogame events. It is all worked out using this equation:

Event Score =  100 x ((n+5)/(n+6)) x ((n – p)/(n – 1)) x 1.08*

where n is the number of players and p is the player’s finishing position before tiebreaks in the event.

If you worked that out, you're a smarter person than I am.

There are plenty of Eurogame events being held at Mind Sports Olympiad, including Catan, First Class, Dominion, Agricola, 7 Wonders, Splendor, Gaia Project, Terra Mystica, Dominion Expansions, Puerto Rico, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride and Stone Age. Scores in any of these are valid for the Championship.

The Mind Sports Olympiad is promising to be a fun event full of some of the best board gamers in the world. If you're heading along to it, make sure to keep an eye out for OTT's Ryan, who will be there reporting on all the goings on.

Will you be taking part in the Mind Sports Olympiad
