Damn right @avernos! 😉
TGIW
Happy Weekend!!
Why are you all even awake before 5:30 AM? o_0
Or up after 1am, it is all relative. 🙂
Staying up until 5:30 am is so much easier, than ever waking up before 5:30. The very thought… *shudder*
Getting a dose of early morning warzan keeps the doctor away 😉 (•potential lovers too but hey, it’s worth the sacrifice!)
How about doing a game of Star Wars: LEGiOn
Good idea @thunderchildobs
5PM GMT Sunday – Be here as we’re hosting one live 🙂
How did I get the rebel scum? That changes my choice of t-shirt you know. ; )
Yeah I’m heart broken too mate lol 😉
Why do I get the feeling that Gerry has just found out that he is playing in this game when he started watching this weeks show
And I’m only now getting the pun how many hours later lol
Yeah to do it in LEGO is gonna take some time lol
Happy Weekend!
Ahem, rosebud.
The Godtear miniatures are very well done. Steamforged does an amazing job on their products.
They are brilliant, looking forward to getting them pulled together and trying it out!
Happy weekend! Great show, congratulations to all the winners!
It’s the Weekend!!
Time to forget the Beast and Emma for a few minutes and consider some Hobby!
Too darned right many of us have pre-ordered the SW Legion starter set… the foam is most welcome!
Too late for a jami-dance, but ‘fleshed-out’ dance should be good enough…
@lancorz That Jonah HIll meme just cracked me up 😀
Hehe. Blasted updates!
I think I saw an AT-AT walk up my street at one point on Thursday.
Congrats to all of the winners of the fabled realms challenge 😀
I am glad I wasn’t the only person posting in the end it was looking a bit hexy at the start of the challenge when I was the only guy who had posted for a week ha ha ha 😛
The Godtear early access Miniatures are gorgeous, I just started painting Shayles Golem. Unfortunately the ‘beast form the east’ snowed me in so no games this week.
Its an enjoyable watch while I sit here snuggled up in a blankie on the frozen wastes of Hoth. Come to think of it, this is not so much a blankie as rancid Tauntaun hide… er…
In regards to the Victrix figures did Justin say he would never feel or field them himself? I ask as I wasn’t sure what he said as the audio for some reason broke up at that point
Happy Saturday – I really like a lot of the Lucid Eye miniatures – i have quite a few Simians… some are even painted.
Lego wargaming sounds ace. Forgeworld would seem cheap by comparison though 😮
Best AoS moment was when a chaos fateweaver was killed by my last ork squad but the following turn they where wiped out. Which ment I lost as I had no units left but it felt like we had disrupted tzeench’s plans.
Oh, I so wish the Solomon Kane game *did* let you play as parts of his body, not his personality. I know who’d play his arsehole!
lol I think my talent for hot air would put me first in line for that role 😉
$3 million SG, play as left cheek….
lol prepare for largest Kickstarter ever @redben 😉
@warzan and @dignity – taking the idea of the At-At being rare and the scaffolding being put up by rebel affiliates… Even if the rebellion have stuff like this that they’ve looted from past battles, scavangers would not. There would be plenty of scavenger groups who will have never seen one and they would be interested in stripping this thing for the local market.
Even if the At-At itself is not particularly rare in the eyes of the Rebellion, they would perhaps still want to protect their local ally. Could be that the scavengers are suppliers of other weapons to the rebellion, or are the main way the Rebellion operates in this part of the galaxy.
Agreed mate
I am having a real blast digging through the Canon (and legends) of the star wars universe at the moment.
Spent last night watching phantom menace with the kids, watching out for any cool environment we could recreate lol
I have some books I shall be dropping off tomorrow for you to peruse
I think my best watercooler moment for Age of Sigmar is my Chaos Warriors completely failing to inflict any damage for 2-3 consecutive turns due to appalling dice rolling. And by Chaos Warriors I mean Chaos Warrior army, not unit…
If you wanna try lego and wargaming combined together then check out Mechabrick by Ben Jarvis
https://www.mechabrick.com
There is also the very cool mecha lego game MF0 – http://mobileframezero.com/
In one of the Star Wars Battlefront 2 multiplayer scenarios, the Rebels hijack an AT-AT on Endor to attack an Imperial bastion.
Cool 😀
There is a scenario just ready for the tabletop, do you know if anything similar is detailed before anywhere?
Unfortunately not – I am not that deep into Star Wars lore, outside of the movies. There is a bit of a run-through of the scenario here:
https://starwarsgaming.net/battlefront-101-attacking-endor-galactic-assault-red-wolf/
Three control points need to be taken for the AT-AT to be activated, then it’s about defending it on its way through the forest, attacked by Imperial AT-STs and missile launchers, which it is vulnerable against.
Never hate to bring up the prequels @dracs – it was a great time period and the movies established a lot of very important lore, 90% of which was solid gold and even the story arc was solid, even if the delivery was sometimes flawed. Luckily, for every minute of running time Lucas spent focusing on the wrong thing, there is an EU book that explores or expands on something far more interesting.. such as those Republic Commando books behind you 😉
Just have to comment on that, bear with me, please… ^^
Yes, the “prequels” had their benefits. I was in that time, too, and had a blast of some years with e.g. the collectible booster prepainted miniatures game (which would probably not have come out without the Star Wars renewal buff) and went to the see the films in the cinema and stuff.
Buuut, these films did something to the Star Wars feeling that’s bleeding in there until today. I’m pretty sure it’s connected to all the streamlining they did. And this:
“the delivery was sometimes flawed”
To this day I could go insane over how they srewed up the presentation of Palpatine’s grand scheme. For decades he’s orchestrating this galactic conspiracy behind the curtains and then he’s just blurting out his life secret to this willful teenager when he has not yet fully manipulated him to be sure he’s on his side, and when he hasn’t already set everything so he’s effectively won already and his enemies just don’t know it yet. And then this guy just flips out of a whim as it seems to become totally evil and the brooding silently menacing Darth Vader.
…or how they just dumped the great master fencer and puppet master etraordinaire Dooko in this stupid way.
They just would have needed to make the pacing right and the feeling believable and they could have done a master piece.
Anyways, I’m sorry for rambling… ^^
Oh yeah, I completely agree. The role of Dooku and how well orchestrated Palpetine’s plan really was.. was massively undersold so that younger audiences could understand (or didn’t need to understand) what was going on and the Republic Commando books do a much better job of selling how clever old Palps was. But the prequel era is.. well, it is a bit like being friends with a DM who has spent years creating this really fantastic setting for his campaign and due to your friendship with him you get a lot of insight into lore he has built up.. but then when he finally runs a campaign in that setting it’s only a few sessions long and the players are rushed through a sort of shallow, whistle-stop themepark ride that leaps from poorly chosen “highlight” to highlight and they never get to see the world as you did.
@siygess Suspected it, and yes, we’re seeing this very similar. Also, I like to congratulate on a geat analogy!
Although, it seems as if you were referring to people well versed in the Expanded Universe. For judging over the prequels I try to detach myself from that perspective and take only the films themselves into consideration (i.e. the original trilogy, not the ones they messed with and retconned). And I still come to a rather unpleasent conclusion. 😉
Right, although for me, the lore of the period was established by the often excellent Star Wars Clone Wars series, which IMHO is an essential companion to the prequel films. As far as what most people would consider the EU – the books – I must confess to ONLY having read the Republic Commando books, and while two very important aspects of the books are subsequently retconned during the Clone Wars animated series (perhaps just one of them – I guess you could say the control chips are not mutually exclusive with the “In Plain Sight” approach from the books) they still give a lot of valuable context to the events that place in the films.
@dracs
You seen Solomon Kane twice and really don’t remember a single scene or moment? Not eben the iconic fighting in the rain in the muddy forest? The antagonist officer with the skin mask? The scene with the plundering party stumbling into the hall with the mirrors, where demons attack them from within these mirrors?
I agree it’s not a very good movie. But it has scenes and images I find quite iconic.
Weekenders on so let’s sit back and relax… and get some paint down on something.
My most Epic Best Age Of Sigmar Watercooler Moment was when my lone Dark Rider Champion killed a Knight Azyros in Cover, then went toe to toe with a Lord Relictor for 5 rounds of combat, to beat him. By that point the game was over and both of them where still alive so I rolled it out with my opponent until one of them died. It was crazy to see how the the Relictor continually failed to heal himself, yet thanks to the the Shield re-rolling 1’s it kept saving him. It was by far the most exiting game of my life that I will never forget.
I’ve never done the online challenge but The dark elves are an army I used to collect and the new Daughter of Khaine look awesome and I plan on collecting them, it would be amazing to say I got the battletome and the Melusai kit from you guys as I am long time fan and viewer. :)
I’ve only played a single game of AoS, but I was reading a battle report in White Dwarf at work on a lunch break last week and one of my colleagues started hovering around and asking what I was reading. Turned out that he’d been a big fan of the games back in the day and had recently been invited to get back into the hobby by some of his friends. Turns out there are still all sorts of gamers coming out of the closet!
I’m not sure if it counts as a water cooler moment but I picked up the very, very reasonably priced “Storm of Sigmar” box to give myself a few fantasy figures and a printed copy of the rules so that my son would have someone to “battle” with the Seraphon box I had gotten him for his birthday. I had no appreciation for how big monsters work in AoS until he decided to charge his Carnosaur into my waiting semi circle of Sigmarites and Chaos marauders – and it proceeded to utterly destroy them. Even when I ran over the Blood Warriors to help out, I couldn’t put enough wounds on the creature to reduce it’s fighting effectiveness and honestly until I’d charged them in I didn’t even know that was how big monsters worked. The following round there was only a very full Carnosaur in my half of the table!
He is now convinced that he doesn’t need anything else in his slowly expanding Seraphon army apart from more giant dinosaurs!
Also, holy crap, I won something!
Congratulations! Nice work on your minis 🙂
Congratulations for that, too, BTW!
Brrrr Cold
Warzan as air traffic control would be scary…
Hmm… Water cooler moment and Age of Sigmar…
Well… there was this game later this year (after I buy AoS) where I became so frustrated by my dice luck that I hurled the offending article through a window and knocked the hat off a passing policeman…
Does that count?
The SW AT-AT scenario could be as simple as the Rebels are salvaging parts, but for the Imperium, they received word that key Rebel leaders are present at the salvage sight. Turn this into a bit of a VIP match.
Congrats to the winners. Loved looking at all the kit-bashing entries. Looking forward to the Star Wars live-battle tomorrow. 🙂
Mustn’t buy list from this week;
Godtear
Batman
Robin Hood
Star Wars Legion
Dammit guys, will you start to show rubbish I don’t want to spend the money I don’t have on?
Best AoS moment came when my mate and I were just starting out in the game. We’d split the box set and I’d taken the Sigmarites, he the Chaos half. Wanting to play his old lizardmen forces we’d agreed to a one sided game where I would just last as long as possible. Little did I know that one hero would continue to pass every roll while my friend failed abysmally at any roll to hit him. If you’ve ever seen the old Conan comic book cover where he stands on a pile of dead enemies then that is what you have – with a couple of triceratops thrown in.
One hero (a lord celestant) survived the game and won the day against all odds. What a fantastic memory and why I love our hobby so much – anything can happen!
@cybermonkey grab Godtear on the kickstarter likely to have a better price point and minis that dont weigh enough to kill your opponent. Although they are fantastic minis
I love the “alternative LEGO” StuG! But @warzan , if anyone asks, (and I doubt they will) – just remember this:
This is a StuG-IV, not a StuG-III. Would-be rivet-counters will count the wheels and cry that it’s “wrong.” If they do, give them a “grognard huff” and relish in your retort:
“Actually, my good sir, this is a much more rare and interesting StuG IV (SdKfz 167), not the typical StuG III (SdKfz 142) that so many would-be grognards have in their armies.”
** pause to puff meaningfully on cigar or pipe **
“You see, after the success of the StuG III, the Germans experimented with expanding the assault gun program to the Panzer IV line as well as the Panzer III. The StuG IV has they same StuK 40 / L48 main gun as the classic StuG III, and after 30 or so were converted from Pz IV chassis, about 1100 more were built between December 1943 – March 1945. Now granted, the StuG IV was soon superseded by more powerful assault gun and tank destroyer variants of the Mark IV…”
** wave your hand dismissively like you don’t want to get into dozens of armored vehicle types **
“… but over 1100 of these StG IVs were made and fought in Europe, making them an important addition to the history of mechanized warfare.”
😀 😀 😀 😀
LOL
I’m rehearsing it now mate 😉
Re-watching that part of the segment again and taking a close look, that kit really IS pretty close to a StuG IV – noticing details like the back “wings” of the engine deck and the return rollers – it’s actually pretty darned close for a “brick set.” 😀
And for a non LEGO brand it’s pretty damned good too.
My favorite Age of Sigmar gaming moment so far was when my husband was playing Nurgle vs. my Sylvaneth. While contesting an objective, my Treelord had to kill his last Plague Drone to earn the point and win the game. Alas, it was not my day. Although the Treelord wounded it enough to kill it, Nurgle blessed my husband in the form of an ACTUAL FLY that buzzed around the room and landed near the drone on the table. He passed a Disgustingly Resilient save roll, winning the game. Having done it’s job, the fly alighted, never to be seen again.
AoS story: One of the boys brought his 4-5 year old kid, who brought his own toys. I took the kid and played with him, his care bears, my litte ponys and whatever he had became beasts of slaanesh, and this way even the lads around had a great time, as they knew how to imagine the battle properly, not just watching plastic animals playing around.
Just shows proxies will always work no matter the game or who your playing against
My water cooler moment was when my mate arrived for a game of AOS proudly carrying his brand new Carmine dragon from forgeworld looking very smug with himself. He then proceeded to go on and on about how good it rules were and how deadly it was. We then deployed he got first turn and moved the dragon into the centre of the board. I managed to move get the initiative and have a double turn, in which my “harmless” unit of blood reavers charged the dragon and cut it down in one combat phase before it even got chance to raise a claw. The look on my friends face was priceless and he sulked for the rest of the game. To this day now my blood reavers are known as the “dragon slayers”.
Ha ha classic shiny heartbreak moment.
Happens to the best of us lol
Finally angry elves!
59:55 – The Vitrix Gallic fanatics. Yes, @dignity is right, they’re historically accurate. Have you guys seen where @suetoniuspaullinus has actually painted some of these on the WAYPAN thread? 😀 😀 😀
http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/painting/forum/topic/what-are-you-painting-now-2018-waypn/?topic_page=31&num=15#post-228259
Happy Weekend!
First off – Many thanks to Sam! @dracs On his recommendation of the series on a previous Weekender I picked up ‘Steelheart’ by Brandon Sanderson this week and I am loving it!
Water Cooler moment for me – well I’ve avoided AoS pretty much, at first because I wanted to keep playing WFB 8th and eventually over a lack of a suitable army. Or so I thought . . . until chatting to a friend who does play and I totally have a double take moment at realising that large Lizardman army I have for WFB is perfectly playable as Seraphon in AoS. DOH!
That said, Daughters of Khaine is pretty much the AoS army I had been waiting for.
Oh, an @warzan and @dracs are TOTALLY right – the first, last, and best Robin Hood = the Disney Fox vs. Lion movie with Peter Ustinov voicing Prince John and Richard the Lionheart. 😀 😀 😀
Best Robin Hood for me is the Patrick Bergin/Uma Thurman one It has Jurgen Prochnow in it as well
Was he in tights? 😉
It has Jurgen Prochnow in it
I quite liked the 80s bbc show
My best AoS moment, picking up Thunder and Blood to get back into the Warhammer and seeing my kids faces when they saw what it was all about. They couldn’t build the models but once I had them put together they both got stuck into painting them up with me. Needless to say a few of my Khorne Bloodbound now look like they have fought most of their battles in a Dulux factory but they still make me smile every time I set them up on the table. Always makes me think of the magic of this hobby.
Leads me to another point about the lego kits. My son has a collection of the Marvel and DC lego mighty micro kits, basically lego cars themed to comic heroes and villains. I’ve ordered up Gaslands so we can get them on the table top in some Marvel/DC mash up mario kart style table top racing. Can’t wait. Planning some house rules for specific weapons like a spider man web shooter and batarangs
Brickquest has been around for 20+ years. Very simple and easy and great Wargaming rules for using lego…
I thought I’d hate Age of Sigmar (as I was still playing 7th edition when it came out) but it really works well. I have been running an AoS skirmish campaign set around a story of some goblins trying to take a dwarf watchtower. The campaign reached its highlight when the horde of goblins finally got it just to be held in a corridor by one troll slayer.
Water cooler moment.
Went to my first AoS tournament with my shiny new painted Khorne Bloodbound. Really proud of them.
Get to my first game, start deploying them my tape measure snaps back and slices my finger open.
I bled everywhere. Presumed Khorne would be pleased and bless my dice all day.
Obviously lost every game…
The Daughters of Khaine models are the kind that will make you want to jump into a new faction when you don’t need to!
a great weekender guys.
Great fun show guys!
Those new Age of Sigmar minis look really sweet. I might look into getting that faction.
As always the GW models are top notch as sculpts go.
Water cooler moment….My order serpentis dark lord on a dragon goes toe to toe with a tzeentch demon.three rounds in and the demon has not landed a single hit let alone a wound.
The lord is the only figure left standing and wins the day.Epic poor dice results for my opponent with grand results from my rolls.my opponent gifted his dice to his son and went and bought a whole new set.
So, my water colour moment with AoS was…
…when I discovered AoS28!
Inspired by the Imquisitor28 / Inquisimunda scene this alongside various like minded projects is just the free and different take on Age of Sigmar that I can actually relate to. They envision a grittier side of the new WHFB setting and typically discover dark corners and lower levels of the Mortal Realms. The Blanchitsu influence is also quite present. It’s blowing my mind how much individual hobby effort, dark creativity and diverse fun in the spirit of the old WHFB world this mostly shiny, heroic and rather streamlined new setting is unlocking.
I’d like to point out that there are some international hobbyists, who do group projects once a year or so every time for an individual narrative setting (not only AoS but 40Kish, too) each building a small warband to meet for one battle weekend. Latest one and set firmly in the Mortal Realms (a remote region in the Realm of Shadow) is LEGEN by Ana of the blog GARDENS OF HECATE:
http://gardensofhecate.blogspot.de/search/label/Legen?m=1
But there are many more blogs affiliated to this scene like the one of AoS28 rules creator Bruticus: EX PROFUNDIS:
http://www.exprofundis.com/introducing-aos28-inq28-meets-age-sigmar/
Look it up, guys. It’s amazing and an exciting world. Most inspiring to me and that’s what I want to delve into.
Ha, ha – water*cooler* moment obviously… nothing to do with water colour paintings. Although trying a technique like that would probably fit the unconventional artistic narrative setting. 😀
I love the idea of Justin wearing a pink fluffy blind fold while Warren drains his 4th tumbler of Bourbon and fixes his bleary gaze on him… please be sure to film it for prosperity
My watercooler moment is my nurglings killing my friends Lord-Celestant in my first game of Age of Sigmar. Far better than my 2nd game, which involved my friends Dracoth mauling half my army single-handed…
Happy Weekend all! Enjoyed the show as ever.
Before running our RPG groups current Star Wars campaign I took some pains to try and absorb all the current Disney Canon, TV, films, books etc… Some of the books are great. With regards to the post-Endor stuff, the Chuck Wendig Trilogy that explores a lot of what happens politically and militarily in the aftermath of the defeat of the empire (and ultimately the birth of the first order). It has some really harrowing scenes with an imperial loyalty officer who gradually becomes a rebel after witnessing the carnage at Endor.
Also @dracs is correct, all the Filloni stuff (both Clone Wars and Rebels) are still canon in the Disney central story group version. Which again includes some nice extensions in the books, both the story of Kanan and how he first meets Hera and Ashoka Tano’s experiences during the rise of the Empire and how she decided to become who she eventually becomes (trying to avoid spoilers 🙂 )
The new infinity stuff looks awesome as ever, I hope we get to see some of those new Japanese models in play in the near future. Same goes for Godtear.
Also, I was born in 82 and I remember Maid Marian and Her Merry Men, it was on the BBC in the 90’s I think.
Godtear beta is current my next to be painted, only one game so far lurgy and weather have conspired against. Minis are absolutely stunning, although I feel uPVC may be a better material for the bigger ones. Next games are wednesday, overall even in this early stage a real good system.
Also currently working on some legion bits nothing quite so impressive as the at-at but should give a decent table of coverage. Did ponder killing my wizards of the coast at-at but it is too small.
That infinity faction looks stunning
Awesome stuff! Always enjoy this 🙂
Klaatu Barada Nyctophobia!! 😀 😛 😛 😀
Woot!! Surprise win FTW!! Hang on, I’ve got to change back into my jammies, So that I can do some dancin’!!
So, my AoS water cooler moment is basically an entire game. I’ve been playing a lot of the Triumph & Treachery (multiplayer) scenarios lately. On Sunday we had a 7 player game and the mechanics are so fun – each player has a small (500 pt) army of say 2-4 smallish units.
While each player is having their turn, all the other players are accumulating treachery points that can be used for things like preventing a unit from running, -1 on to hit rolls, launching a surprise attack out of turn or the dreaded alliance, which can prevent an opponent from attacking you in a single phase (e.g. the combat phase, *after* they’ve charged into contact).
Add in a couple of working Realm Gates as objectives and the chaos, carnage and back stabbing was hilarious.
Oh, and there’s also secret objectives for additional victory points, just to make things even more crazy.
I can’t recommend these scenarios enough, GW have done a fantastic job with them – even players who had their entire force destroyed (we had 3 or 4 out of 7 by game end) are still getting involved through inflicting and assisting with treachery and can influence the game right up until the end.
And yes, the feeling when 3 opponents all chip in to give your prize unit a -3 to hit on all attacks for a critical round of combat is indescribable.
Another great show guys!
AoS. Have only played AoS once because 40k grabbed my attention and took all my focus end of last year. I have always loved Dwarves, a friend has a substantial collection and offered to give me a game. We played a fairly large game. I had read the 4 pages of rules but sadly knew nothing about the army I had been supplied. Then it came to the hero phase and the game snarled to a snails pace. My opponent was very patient but i would suggest not playing the game until you have read all your army’s special rules. His orge army swept across the table and smashed me to bits. it was fun, but i haven’t been able to do the homework to play the game again.
But I don’t play age of Sigmar! I feel excluded! I’m a sad special snowflake princess!
My best Age of Sigmar water cooler moment was when I went into my hobby store recently and was blown away by seeing to beautiful painted armies going at it with their massive creatures and mobs of warriors. I don’t even remember what they were playing exactly but just the sight of it made me want to get into the game. It was the mix of cool models with a good paint job that just grabs your attention.
Best AOS watercooler moment was filling the watercooler with a cheap wine and then playing some games 😉
My fav Warhammer moment, although not AoS, was when my Tzeentch enemy had plenty of defensive magic put on an area. To cross that, my hero had to roll a 6 at least 4 or 5 times. I decided I’d try it, and managed to roll all those 6s in a row. After that, my elf ranger got the nickname Rambo.
For AoS, in the beginning year, there was this guy, who loved those funny rules, and tried to get as many modifiers and rerolls as he could, by bringing false mustaches for his artillery rolls, and whatever.
best water cooler AoS moment.
me; I was looking into AoS and wanted to pick up a two new armies and ruleset for the boys and I to play with…
wife: blink, blink, stink-eye
I’m sure we all have that AoS story about the new army that fails to do anything thanks to dice rolls. However, my brand new Arkanaut Frigate failed all its 4+ to hit rolls, it’s 4+ heal roll (with re-roll no less), the 4+ roll to cause mortal wounds on units that charge it (twice!), all its saving throws and all its melee attacks. Somehow, it was the only thing alive at the moment I conceded the game. With two wounds left, it was a smoking wreck.
It wasn’t even the worst part about the game! I failed all my 3+ saves on my Admiral who dies in combat and I rolled a 6 on a battle shock test for a unit of Arkanauts.
Quite what I had done to anger the dice gods so terribly, I’ll never know!! :'(
You guys sold the hell outta the Batman KS!
Gods dammit!!
All In!!!
Blaster was here… & might not be for long, can’t afford it! 😉
Water cooler moment: We have this GW-fanboy kid in our club, and when Age of Sigmar came out, he sold part of his beautifully painted collection, so he could buy hundreds of round bases, so he could swap and base every single WH miniature in his collection on round bases immediately.
“You start with your objective on a hex based map and…”
@oriskany goes: “Hex based? SOLD!”
AoS story: In a game I played with Nurgle, enemy concentrated on my strong units, and in the end they managed to kill them off, or get them occupied, but I won the game due to one single nurgling being in the right place, while noone was looking 🙂
i feel like these models would fit in with my wanderers army pretty well.
Totally in love with the Melusai concept and the two form of Morathi.
Can’t wait to put my hands on this new AOS faction.
Watercooler moment: I play undead, and at a convention my chaos enemy charged my zombies with mounted knights, and only could get 1 or 2 hits in until the end of the game due to bad rolls.
My fav Sigmar moment was probably when my corsairs managed to wipe out a Great Unclean One, just to show Nurgle who’s the boss.
Hmm – my Watercooler AoS experience. Don’t know if this qualifies but here goes. I haven’t had a chance to play much, but I do collect (horde?) the minies. When i bought the gryph hounds for teh Stormcasts, my daughter suggested (decided? :p), that they should be painted up as elements of magic. she was big into My little Pony at the time.
Air, Water, Earth (Nature I think she called it) and Fire was pretty straightforward, but I had 8 hounds at the time. So she came up with Light (day) and dark (Night), magic…and here’s the odd one: Tiger! Cause apparently tigers are so cool, they should be an element 😀
Pretty bad picture of them, but here they are: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/115797144395089021854/album/6498601579814882433/6498601580498953010?authkey=COuC07fe8erTygE
