Pictures X-Mas Expansion // Rio Grande Games

If you have never played Pictures before, this title tends to rear its head at Christmas given its party game mechanics. How creative are you is the first question. In Pictures, 3-5 players are provided with a secret card that opponents across the table will need to guess. Players will then need to create their picture using a set of components. This might mean creating a stop sign with a shoelace, or a bee out of building blocks.

Whoever guesses the card and creation correctly will be awarded points. The game can take anywhere up to half an hour depending on how intoxicated the players or, or how many are involved. The winner with the most points, gained skills in guessing their friends and family members' sad but creative reimaginations.

The Pictures Christmas expansion will be adding a whole host of cards themed to Christmas. Adding an additional 110 cards to your bank, extending on from the core game with a wild selection of picture cards to be added. Alongside two new materials to build and construct with. Challenging players to set a Christmas table setting, to ensure opponents can find your photo.

Wonderful to see Pictures still gaining support. Not just reskinning their core box into a festive-themed board game like many other titles we see within the industry. Extending on the core box and adding a whole host of different cards and new themes into the mix to add new layers of festive party gaming.

The expansion is said to be 'coming soon', which we can hope is right before Christmas to extend the Pictures range past the core box and Orange Expansion.

What party games do you like to play with your family at Christmas?
