The Helsmiths of Hashut aren't just showing up on the battlefields of The Mortal Realms and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. They are also popping up in the first big expansion for the new edition of Warhammer Underworlds, Spitewood.

Spitewood - Warhammer Underworlds

Spitewood // Warhammer Underworlds

As the battles of Warhammer Age of Sigmar move to Ghyran, so does Warhammer Underworlds. The Kurnothi have been roused by the coming of interlopers, giving us a second look at these wild warriors and the fearsome Helsmiths!

This expansion to the Embergard boxed set comes with two brand new warbands, two new Rivals decks, a new double-sided board, tokens and more. Defending their groves, Kurnoth’s Heralds are leaping into the fray with their defensive warband.

Kurnoths Heralds - Warhammer Underworlds

Kurnoth's Heralds // Warhammer Underworlds

Ylarin, Master of Paths, leads this trio, who have been tasked with protecting their holy forest. Backing up Ylarin, you have Cullon, Axe of Kurnoth and Lenwythe, Eye of the Forest. Kurnoth's Heralds excel in using their speed and skill to outflank their enemies when on home ground, before punishing their foes.

Going up against Kurnoth's Heralds, we have The Blood of the Bull.

Led by Zuldrakka the Hateful, this warband is all that is left of her army after being ambushed by the Kurnoth. Reinforcements are incoming, but until they appear, Zuldrakka will have to rely on Morudo, Imindrin and Tokkor the Immolator. They are then backed up by Grisk Back-stabba, who is both scout and assassin. Their focus? Get revenge and burn down the heart of the woods.

Spitewood Contents - Warhammer Underworlds

All of this comes alongside two Rivals Decks, which match the two warbands in Spitewood. You can, of course, use these decks with other warbands in your collection if you prefer to find some new combinations that work well for you.

New Warband Sets

As well as the new expansion, four new boxed sets are coming out for each of the Grand Alliances, which contain four warbands. All of these come with updated Warscroll and Fighter cards for the new edition of the game.

Seekers in Shadow - Warhammer Underworlds

Seekers in Shadow // Warhammer Underworlds

These are older warbands from the history of Warhammer Underworlds who are now getting a proper update for the new edition of the game. Each of the sets contains the cards you need for the respective warbands but you can also get a card pack if you already own these warbands.

Reavers in Ruin - Warhammer Underworlds

Some classic warbands like the Sons of Velmorn are back, giving you another chance to snap up these figures if you missed out on them in older sets. If you have the Core Set for Warhammer Underworlds, then you can pick up one of these boxes and already have access to loads of different combinations, even when just using the core Rivals Decks.

Gitz and Goliaths - Warhammer Underworlds

Gitz and Goliaths // Warhammer Underworlds

Warhammer Underworlds continues to be a great way for you to dive in and experience The Mortal Realms without having to spend hundreds of pounds on a full army. You get some of the best miniatures in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar range as well, perfect for painters.

What do you make of this update for Warhammer Underworlds?
