Happy Weekend!
Morning boys hope you are all well.
Can’t wait to see everyone again! 😀
Dudes
@onlyonepinman WOOOO!!! Awesome to hear one of the regulars being on here! I want to see those on what are you painting now!!!
@lloyd Is the Canadian show you’re thinking of Republic of Doyle? Takes place in St John’s, Newfoundland. Newfoundlanders do have a very unique accent! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Doyle
That’s the very one.
Sorry I got a bit excited hearing the name of one of our people. So, what I really like about the Mythos stuff is how excited they are about game play and the miniatures themselves. Often I hear people prattle on about the Lovecraft mythos or some version of it, and the thing is I think most people get why people like it. However, that isn’t why they are there they are there for the game itself. And it is good to see people who are actually excited more by the game than just the fluff around it especially if they are making the game.
(You know I think I only think about this in regards to Lovecrafts stuff most people I love if they have decent fluff, but I think a lot of Lovecraft people go over the top.)
Loved the look of Mythos.
Great coverage of what looks to be a great game.
One person to check out at Salute is Bad Squido Games aka The Dice Bag Lady. She is launching a range of WW2 Soviets female soldiers and has plans to release more female soldiers who fought in WW2.
Ugh!!! Why do they always make the show so awesome to watch!!! It’s 2 a.m. but Imma gonna watch.
Do you have a problem if you would like to have all (and I mean ALL) minis? Haha. Good weekend. Thanks for showing us Mythos.
Mythos looks awesome, so much depth of story and the game play sounds sweet.
I really enjoy the guest features – maybe when there are no weekenders you could package a couple of previously aired ones up as a “Best of War” so we can still get our weekend BOW fix – the weekend isn’t the same without them!
I’m really impressed with the Rail Raiders KS. I know the Chibi style isn’t for everyone, but it does look a lot of fun and for $50 you do get a hell of a lot for your money.
interesting mini
yay its the weekend at last
I’ve said it many times but the guys at Twisted have produced an amazing series of minis, I backed the KS (even though I swore I’d stop buying stuff on there) because the sculpts were just so damn good. I can’t wait to see them in the flesh
I like the look of the Mythos stuff, I’m thinking I’ll be getting my hands on it once it’s out. The Sea Queen is a nice looking model would be a great way to start 😉
I wish you a wonderful weekend. Thank you again for a great show and I must admit: always wanted to abduct a queen and now I finally get a chance! 🙂 Would love to come to the UK for Salute but miss the time to do so 🙁 But all of you going there: have a ton of fun.
Alien
Happy weekend
Will be at salute on sat for sure….may even make the Friday meet up.
Are we all going to whelp on warzan all night…no tattoo on his face leaves loads we CAN do,the mind boggles.
Hand cuffs , shaving cream and a blow up goat could be in the mix? Oh Justin said he had goat sorted my bad.
no no its ok if you want to bring a goat for warren that’s fine, the one I’m bringing is for the initiation of new backstagers, soling as i can find one 😉
Really looking forward to Salute. 4 ground is a definite for me to check out, along with all the terrain in general. Planning to check out osprey and frostgrave as I’ve heard so much good stuff. Can’t wait.
Good morning! Well, all I can say about the Star Trek boardgame is that MY BODY IS READY! I already own TI3 and Eclipse but there is always room for one more sci-fi board game ;P
happy Saturday you must go and see Spectre Miniatures, Warlord and Evil Bear Wargames.
I would love to paint that mini 🙂
That’s a great looking miniature.
Good morning another bumper show, those Mythos Minis are sweet, may just have to get them for painting 🙂
Next weekend is going to be messy..lol glad i am booked into the hotel. Not sure about the drinking game on friday but the Saturday night hell yeah:-)
Good show once again. The Mythos game looks great. Interesting mini’s, background and game play. I’d really like to try the Star Trek game it looks like it could be really a lot of fun.
Despite the fact that I likes me some Cthulhu and the Mythos mini previews have been very nice, I had absolutely no interest in the game until Warren sat down to talk with Paranoid miniatures.
Now I am totally sold on the game and I’m really keen to talk to them at Salute to find out more about the narrative campaign they mentioned. It also gives me a better understanding of where Dawn’s mini might fit in to the world and now I really, really need a Jezebel.
Hopefully I will be able to get a data connection at Salute because it looks like their KS is going live on the 16th!
Brilliant show as always, I do like the Sea Queen. She’d be an “interesting” MERCs Exec for ISS to have to retrieve/protect from another MegaCon.
Great show
Great looking mini. looked almost Drow-like with a Cthulu mix.
At Salute please have a good look at Gripping Beast’s “Saga, Age of the Wolf” campaign system for Saga. Given BoW just did a thing on organising campaigns I’d love to see what you think of this. While you are there look at their new Late Romans and ask them if they have any plans for them in terms of gaming systems.
I would appreciate you guys visiting the Anvil Industry stall at Salute and finding out more about their new human regiments figures as well as what their plans are for Afterlife.
great show as ever hope to run into you all at salute next week
Will definitely be checking out the Mythos guys at Salute. Looks a bloody good game.
Happy Saturday!
It’s Weekender time, which means awesome gaming entertainment while making dinner family 🙂
Have fun at Salute, if you get a chance check out Mierce?
Congrats to all the prize winners… So Jealous! 😀
Mythos looks better every time I learn more, I have 2 copies of the Sea Queen (I don’t need another ;-)) she is a fantastic miniature. The Hidden Ones and the Wildborn would be my factions of choice.
Awesome miniatures from mythos!
Great stuff, really looking forward to the star trek game. Any idea when it’s out?
Mythos looks awesome! I am a backstory geek and that game seems to have a great one.
Another massive Weekender, I got so much stuff painted during this 🙂
Awesome games in this episode. Probably going to pick up Chicago Way rule book and couple of starter sets at Salute. Also, the Mythos background and the models are stunning.
Can’t wait for your guys salute coverage, its the best thing for us who can’t be there, thanks!
great weekender, cant wait for Salute
Love that mini so subtle and creepy
Love anything Mythos and H.P. Lovecraftian stuff!
Nice show, not the best ever. But that’s I ain’t a Ctuhlu or Trekkie fan. But still full of nice looking miniatures. I really like the Chibi’s of Rail Raiders. I don’t think I will like the game, but maybe I will buy some just for painting. By the way, great to hear Games Workshop will support LOTR. Nice game with great miniatures.
And the Sea Queen, like that model. I love to see this model painted by my wife. She is a far better painter than I am.
Amazing miniature
Mythos is looking sooooo cool. Been waiting for a cthulhu skirmish miniature game with some great lore/backstory to go with it.
i’m interested in maybe getting some Mythos minis.
I’m afraid I’d use them primarily in other games, but hey, that’s better than nothing isn’t it? 😉
Nothing too intresting going on for me this week.
Great looking fig.
Rail raiders, yes !! Looks fantastic 😀
So what happens when the authorities get the Twisted boys back on their meds?
@warzan

Ah yes, a copy of the Tako Lady needs to join my mini collection.
And I thought about skipping this weekend as I have no interest in Star Trek but OMG Mythos looks great! I am going to get that Egyptian Golem just to paint….they may get more money than the golem is worth just to get everything else too!
Really liking the look of Mythos especially the Wild Born. The back ground and story around Mythos is absolutely amazing. Will definitely be checking out the kickstarter.
Really excited for this to launch. I have been following this since they first previewed the sea queen, what a year ago or so? Been very fascinating watching it all come together, and interacting with the crew over at Paranoid… they have been absolutely great at responding and engaging the community.
Can’t wait to see the sculpts for the Hidden ones and Wildborn, If they are anywhere near as nice as the Priory, we are in for a REAL treat!!!
Love that witch faction. Can’t wait to get my hands on that goat! 😀
I’m torn on the Mythos minis. I love the HP Lovecraft-inspired universe, but I want the characters to be less “heroic” looking. I would prefer a game where some characters are straight-up, realistic-looking academic types whose purpose is to study clues and perform rituals – avoiding combat – while more physical types are tasked with defending those characters.
I love the background stories to Mythos, looking forward to hearing more.
Newfoundlanders have a scotish and irish backgrounds for the most part. It is a different accent but they are a friendly people like most Canadians. Being one a can say some of the best on the planet
The guys from Paranoid Miniatures are truly brilliant. The story elements behind each faction and characters were inspirational to hear about. I’m so excited for Mythos, going to be the KS of 2019 for me. Anything Cthulhu for me is a winner.
@warzan Gamer Stag…..I can see Warrant being placed in a train to Scotland in just his underwear with a one way ticket…..
When I was in the army one poor Bugger woke up in Hamburg in his boxers armed with just his army ID….and that’s not the worse thing to happen to a poor lad having his stag with a bunch of squaddies
I am with Dawn and Gianna on this one – I absolutely love the story behind Mythos – and as Warren says, helps the gaming in the gaps.
So you guys are into pirates (who’s not?).
You like diceless games. Maybe a poker like mechanic. Easy to teach.
You want characterfull and lovly shiny minatures.
Not to ferget the gobbo with a paddle or a crab suit (huh crap) or a shark on his head as a hat or or or… more pirates.
Freebooters Minatures are attending Salute with a new expansion “Raging Rivers”:
http://www.freebooterminiatures.de/index.php/en/forum/neuigkeiten-news/1957-boat-rule-prerelease-at-salute-april-16th
This is the crew you want to see. I lov this game and it deserves every attention.
Rail Raider mini’s look fantastic, but the gameplay looks almost zero, on the fence and watching this one.
You should really think about changing the XLBS name for the backstage show, you then wouldn’t have to explain that it’s not an extended version of the show everytime you mention it.
I will win one of these centuries!!
…MYTHOS Fluff is absolutely amazing!!!!…..And their character design also!!!!!…..
I’m not so keen on a lot of the Mythos guys’ thinking on the setting, although it’s interesting to see another slightly new take on the Lovecraft setting. The Sea Queen miniature however is amazing – I would certainly like that one! And the woman with the pickaxe is a nice model too. If the others are all good, that might well tempt me!
I’ll have to check out the Chicago Way too. The setting is interesting but it’s the campaigning that most interests me.
I’ve no interest in the Star Trek setting, but the game sounds interesting. Nice to have a giant space opera game of empires that looks pretty elegant.
WAS there a mistake in editing seems like we’re missing some Star Trek???
Myths is looking pretty good.
Dawns mini is great. Wish I could get across the pond to go to Salute and get one. And see everything else there as well. Oh, and to drink to a happy wedding and great life for Warren and his family.
@nsogre, I’m happy to ship you one after we get home from Salute. Just send me a pm if you’re still interested. 🙂
Mythos? Sounds interesting!
Chibi firefly, I’m sold
I am totally sold on Mythos. The background for each faction and the interpersonal relationships between the characters injects a sense of pathos and tragedy, reminding me of Lovecraft’s ‘The Outsider’. I also like the Lovecraftian flavour of the setting and creatures, rather than just attempt to replicate monsters from the stories and Call of Cthulhu. Lovecraft’s Mythos was supposed to be something entirely new and unsettling, so the creative approach taken here is definitely in the spirit of the source material. As a Cryx player, I am torn between the Hidden Ones and the Wildborn. If I can convince my wife to play, I may buy into both. Will definitely be checking out their Kickstarter and I would love the Sea Queen.
O that is a great looking mini. No wonder she fell in love with it.
Looks good! Select me!
Really interested in the Mythos stuff, would love to paint that miniature.
SALUTE: I think you should visit Purgatory Miniatures really intrigued by there stuff. Also Simple Miniatures, as I am helping on the Malifaux demos….
@elysium64, no worries. I’ll definitely be visiting Purgatory Miniatures at the show! 😀
RE: Exploding planets Undiscovered Country, mushy brains abound, I can see @dignity is as much a ‘Trekkie’ as @warzan is a Doctor Who *cough* expert *cough*. The Klingon Home World never blew up, it was the energy producing moon Praxis.
Warren needs to get a little less enthusiastic about Mythos (or maybe it’s the accents). For the “Live Combat” aspect of the combat, it actually sounded as if a portion of the play was taking a real-life swing at your opponent to give him a bloody nose.
Mythos looks awesome!
Well, another kickstarter to look for. I’m eager to see a demo game for mythos.
Great show! Love the Mythos game. I’m sold!
That mini is really hot !!
My goodness !Ilove lovecraft . He is one of my favorite authors. Mythos looks perfect for me! Although i think that every time something new comes out.._.._CULT OF THE NEW!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully bump into some of you at Salute.
After watching this video, it took me 3 hours to find my wallet. It was whimpering in the corner. H.P.Lovecraft AND Star Trek in the same video… I feel for my wallet… but then again… Naaaah!
Love the Mythos esspecially Wildborn models.
Lots of informations and news, I have lack of time to watch everything
Caught up. Now onto the XLBS.
@dignity will be at the BSM on Friday, but will have to miss the Saturday night fun
@lloyd if they are not already on the walk about list. James at Thunderchild Miniatures is hopefully going to have some new models for Wasteman…… FANTASY models.
The Irish and Scottish did immigrate to Canada and the province that they are most centred around Nova Scotia. They really do have thick accents compared to many other Canadians.
Nova Scotia apparently means New Scotland.
See you at Salute!
Wow, those Mythos sketches look awesome… definitely will be following up on this!!! Dang you Shiny Syndrome!!!!
Quick question. So should I bring vaseline for this backstager initiation?
Am I too late for this awesome miniature to win? ^^
Sea Queen looks AMAZING !!!!
That Sea Queen miniature looks like it would be fun to paint.
Kudos to @nakchak for all the help he seems to be putting in with “BoW Next.” 😀 😀 😀
Holy Phillips Lovecraft, Mythos looks epic!
The Mythos minis look really good, been waiting to get my hands on some for a while now.
Mythos looks awesome, fantastic looking miniatures…
The detail in the back stories for the Mythos characters is great, the sisters in particular!
OMG OMG OMG
That Mythosgame looks so awesome. The concept art and narrative really got me going wild at home. This will be the first kickstarter I support.
Please I need that pretty mini to start my collection.
Cheers and happy saturday!
Warren! It’s pronounced Qapla, you petach. 🙂
One of my favourite games as child was the traditional Klingon game of QerPlunk
Looks to be a nice range shaping up for Mythos, seems to be a very similar area to Malifaux but maybe with more tentacles.
Honestly Lovecraft feels rather tired these days, but Mythos seems to have carved out a nice niche here. Looking forward to see where this goes.
Great episode didn’t realize that it was nearly 2 hours long. Really looking forward to the coverage of Salute.
Tis Monday and time to sit and watch and enjoy with a coffee in hand 🙂 Nice looking model too
Loving the detailed background of the Mythos characters.
Twisted`s Avatar Of Set : Now that`s one cool looking mini. I like the way they have mixed “Machine” with “Flesh”, well done guy`s……………….
Mythos has never really appealed to me that is until now, after seeing the figure`s and sketches i`m hooked. I`ll be looking in to this a lot more now, and see which faction tug`s at me.
Star Trek: Ascendancy. Look`s like a nice little game, but i just don`t feel the “Gaming Tug as i like to call it” for this game. Don`t get me wrong i`m a big “Star Trek” fan, but for me i think i`d sooner watch than play.
Rail Raiders : Nice little game, something i can see my grandkid`s getting in to with a little help from me. Me being the person who`s paying for it that is……………………..
Great show guy`s, pity there`
Great show guy`s, pity there`s no weekender next week. Now i`ll have to find something else to do……………………..
Hit submit before finishing this in the previous post………………….
Those Chicago Way minis looks nice, might get some for my Bolt Action resistance fighters.
Love the contests. Keep it up.
Star Trekking across the universe… looks like fun!
Bring on Mythos, I want to paint the goddess.
Looking forward to the Mythos Kickstarter.
I like the looks of Rail Riders despite the chibi art style, because the art seems to contribute to the sense of over-the-top silliness. Star Trek: Ascendancy looks awesome, and I hope the game runs as well as advertised, and I find the idea of Klingons using diplomacy and trade intriguing because it means the chance to explore aspects of the culture that don’t make for interesting TV and film. And yes, I want that Mythos mini.
That’s a great prize, I’ve been looking at her for as a damonette character for a while. The whole range looks very interesting.
Keep an eye on Gripping Beast when at Salute… and Victrix?
Love me some CoC goodness
Been watching the Mythos game as it progressed, but must say from the interview i’m really fired up for this. Love the story based backgrounds, and the idea of the Mythos itself is genius.
Can’t wait
This is one of the best episodes of late, I found myself completely lost within the interview of Paranoid Miniatures (in a good way). This game looks INCREDIBLE
You guys should have a look at the Roots of Magic really nice game system with Wizards dueling http://therootsofmagic.com
Love this site!
Mythos isn’t quite what I was expecting, but it looks a dashed good game nonetheless. I’ll watch the KS closely!
A great show guys! Mythos fluff rocks. I must admit @warzan ‘s stag party is going to be a thing…
I was sold on mythos from just the trailers, seeing the miniatures and hearing such good reviews of the rules has just made me more committed to backing the project.
Well I’m pretty interested in Mythos now so will check them out at Salute.
I would recommend checking out Anvil Industry – some incredible minis and have just launched their new game too
Backstager initiation eh? Can’t help it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXtQMz1RGNw
I LOVE the Mythos stuff! Hope their Kickstarter goes well, I really want to see that on my gaming table!
Star Trek Ascendancy is also looking really cool!
The name is also a nice hint on where they got their… ahem… inspiration from. 😉
I want to go to Salute. I´ve never been in a place fulled with all the stuff that make me feel alive.
But I´m in a different country. Maybe someday…
Mythos looks awesome!
Am I the only one who thinks that Gareth from Paranoid Miniatures sounds exactly like David Schwimmer?
Is that a good thing?
If you watched Friends then no. If you watched Band of Brothers maybe. But I think it’s the perfect voice (and intonation) to tell (horror) stories.
Really like the Sea Queen model!
I want to win.
The background for Mythos sounds amazing.
I’ll keep an eye out for the kickstarter.
Great looking miniature, that. Wish Salute wasn’t a 20 hour flight away.
Star Trek is looking good! Thanks for the video
I love stories and story telling and my original intro into this hobby was lots of role-playing (mainly DMing), but in general now I don’t really care about the fluff of a game. I’ve recently looked for a good ruleset that works well, has some depth to it and anyone some interesting/unique mechanics that make it different from other things. Essentially I now play games because I enjoy the game and not the background.
However, this weeks coverage of Mythos has completely thrown a spanner in the works for me. This was the first time for a very long time that the story has grabbed me…and I generally consider horror (especially Lovecraft) to be one of my least favourite genres. Every faction seemed to be dripping with character and the background was so engaging. Guess I’ll be checking out the Kickstarter!
Lovecraft stuff is always worth reading, playing and having fin with, also fow with japanese forces!
wow I am loving the Mythos Concept
I’m very interrested in Mythos, this look awesome, need to see more coming….
I’m new here! This looks awesome 🙂 I like the design of Mythos. Not very generic.
Another great show and the lovecraft stuff is mint!
The miniatures for Mythos look fantastic, going to be difficult picking out a starting faction although the brotherhood and Wild ones are probably favourite at the moment.
Mythos looks interesting
Lovely show!
I’m waiting for the Star Trek game!
These Mythos minis are just wow!
Star Trek sound interesting, but I’m waiting for a skirmish-scale wargame
Fantastic show!
I’m looking forward to Mythos.
Mythos is cool!
I’m curious what will they get out of Star Trek 🙂
This show was excellent!
This was totally cool!
This was a nice weekender!
