Earning gold and erecting buildings has never been so easy, as the award-winning card game Citadels is getting a bit of a revision. No need to put hours away for this cheeky bit of construction, as Z-Man Games is bringing Citidels a new edition. Adding a streamlined experience and evolved mechanics to the game.

Adding to the classic, the size of the cards have been completely adapted to fit in a more portable sized box. Taking the sizing down to a standard playing card size, making the game a lot more compact. The addition of some mini-cards has been added too, taking away the die-cut pieces seen previously in the prior edition.

The game will continue to boast the game epic storyline, where players compete for head-to-head to construct and invest in a glorious city. However, will be contained in a much smaller box, but with more content packed in. Players can enjoy added content from the previous edition too, as expansion 'Dark City' and Deluxe Edition additives will be part of the revised edition - adding new characters and districts for a bigger more diverse game.

So not only does the game grow and improve resources but there has been a price drop too! With no release day announced just yet, Z-Man Games have confirmed the price, looking at $29.99 for the retail price - in comparison to $34.99 for the prior deluxe version.

Personally, this is how I enjoy new editions of board games being done. Proactivity for components, added content, information added from the board game community, and a price drop! What's not to lose?

When do you think a board game needs a new edition?
