WARNING: Watch out peeps if you follow my link to the Dead Man’s Hand Gunfighters, it’s just 1 sprue not the actual box set FFS!
Should have bought Gobbos instead. Much better value
Who’s Gobbos?
Oh no, Remember to read the LARGE PRINT ?
But, but I looked at all the pictures, is that not enough!!!!!!!!! 🙂
I can see why the wife banned you from ebay…

Happy Sunday CoGs and OTTers!
Time to rename tbe Community spotlight as The uHH deja Vu spot
The best way to get into historical gaming in 6mm ACW.No pressure Shay
That’s what I thought
Woot! Snag-a-Normie is still viable. I’d throw my lot in with SAGA and the Dark Ages as I’ve done it twice now with Viking forces. The capability of taking them and turning things to the fantastic with mythological monsters is simple enough. That reminds me, when @lloyd are we going to see those Pagan Rus include some more fantasy bits, eh slacker?
Snag-a-Normie,Snag-a-Saxon,Snag-a-viking or even Snag-a-Rus filth. Its all the same really for wargaming the Dark Ages
Happy Sunday XLBSers.
Like the video’s or the sashquatch will get you.
Cat whiskers They are great for vehicle aerials.
An you don’t have to cut them you will find them all over the house.
Kelly’s hero’s shit house?
Pallets are an arse you have to use treated for Europe or it’s sent back but they’ll send any shite AAaagh.
May be difficult nowadays but i don’t it.
Never look for blue waffles. Just don’t you have been warned.
shhhh
Da Da Da. Lol.
MechaTop is a tabletop games system designed to allow folks to use their completed Gunpla (and similarly scaled) kits. It was going to be a licenced Gundam product to start with but that fell through so they went with the more generic MechaTop as opposed to GundamTop. It’s a nifty system and makes use of the hexagonal display bases that you can get for kits
Just coming here to say this, Mechatop ruleset would be the way to go
Shay suffering from the thousand mm’s stare.
I would throw gangsters into the ring. I played Chicago way when it first came out and I was asked by a normy at work about it who just loves the 20s so I’m going to be dusting off those minis. It all depends on people’s collected interest. My cheese riot game was popular with my work mates because they all understood ghe subject.
Gangsters have certainly featured heavily, especially with the likes of Peaky Blinders
That’s a bear grilles episode tape worms?
Hatfield’s V the Mcoys? Gerry.
Lloyd has more train’s that British rail.??
lol not yet!
That thumb nail is gunna be far too exciting for @crispin…
I do what I must
Have you seen this man if you have do not play with him he’ll bugger off an leave you to die.
Totaly accurate, he’s the worst 🙂
Googling “Attenborough tapeworm” does not present anything similar to Lloyd’s story. Lloyd, you really should stop bingeing on Attenborough documentaries and then eating cheese just before bedtime…
It happened this isn’t no Mandela effect lol
It offended somebody.?
Fab show guy’s.
@brennon The Viking motif is also an overused cliché in board gaming which means many people from that part of the hobby have encountered it.
Very true – lots of board games with that theme that people could latch on to
You could do ‘allo ‘allo in 7tv…just saying
You could!
Happy Sunday.
Best way to get into historical gaming? Either buy a set of the Time Bandits miniatures and invade someone else’s historical game (as discussed in last week’s uHH) or play Sláine (which is very historical and totally accurate).
Otherwise I’d go with the western option with the low model count and you don’t have to play your games in a town, (although it’s certainly something to work toward if you enjoy the game). Also, westerns have trains!
@lloyd makes a good point. I am a gaming magpie who plays too many games and apart from GW games where I actively encourage people to look elsewhere, I make a real effort to wait for people at our club to approach me if they see me playing a game.
You know it 🙂
Happy Sunday!
What’s the best thing to get someone to play…. I’d go with Dark Ages. Just because the aesthetics.
Like Saga! for example.
If you wanna get a tapeworm eat some pork.
If you wanna get a tapeworm eat some pork.
Lamb, chicken, beef, fish or egg
Forget it, you won’t get a tapeworm.
I’m not commenting on the horrendous abuse I suffered at the hand of the Lloyd. Neither will I comment on how he’s a silly bean for buying one sprue for dead mans hand instead of the much cheaper full box because I have class
Look at you showing your face around here, don’t you have a gaming partner to let down mid game lol
Brilliant episode chaps. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Me too 🙂
I asked my wife if she knew what happened in 1066 (she’s Chinese by the way). Her response was:what…how the hell would I know I wasn’t alive then…stop asking such stupid questions.
lol I love that 🙂
@brennon @lloyd ive heard Saga too many times so my historical foray will be El Cid spanish.
Saga! Saga! Saga! Saga! Saga!
The best era to bring a wargamer from Scifi/Fantasy to historical I think depends if he is a Sci-fi or fantasy gamer (or both). The easy answare would for me be to bring a Sci-fi gamer over to a popular period with guns. And a Fantasy gamer i would introduce to a popular period without guns.
For the period without guns I would definety go dark age for the reasons mentioned by Ben. For “gun period” I would go for WW2 for reasons disscussed in the video.
This way I think the chances might be best for the gamer to enjoy gaming in a new setting but stil be familiar with some of the typical strategies/ways of fighting from their previous experience in either scifi or fantasy.
“bring a Sci-fi gamer over to a popular period with guns. And a Fantasy gamer i would introduce to a popular period without guns” – sounds like a solid plan to me.
great few games of Dead Mans Hand, crackin game, poor Paul and and my dodgy activations. But there was a lot of interrupting when declaring 😉 😉 PAUL!!!! got my ass handed to me repeatedly. Great game though thanks lads
