Looking good in the video guys. like the design of the table. also have you guys watched the GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE lately?
I see a lot of mentions of greatest movie ever made on this website, but no ever says which movie.
Opinions vary on the subject, so what’s the movie?
Who do I need to convince letting me win one of those nice books?
Stargrave has me very excited. I have started building DIY terrain in anticipation of playing the campaign.
Thats a very nice table setup. Gerry has been very busy.
This is my next step. Need more scatter!
Looks pretty slick
Thought this table looked great yesterday. Would like to see more of how it came together
3 days, some very late nights and a ton of airbrush and inking
You’re the hero we need Gerry!
Nice.
Great looking table. As nice and convenient as storing a load of Core Space terrain is to throw onto a table for me you can’t beat the physicality of ‘full fat’ terrain.
Hell of a table guys, good job on all that painting Gerry (I don’t envy you)
Nice. I have to get my Infinity terrain out. Look for some more scatter terrain or print some.
Looking forward to playing a campaign with these rules.
It is a lovely looking table. Good to see a wide range of different Indies being used to supply the scatter. The Antenociti’s Workshop stuff is grand. It would seem they are having a sale on their webstore too. Oh dear 🙂
Lovely table. Been so long since I played on a fully decked table.
My many, many unopened purchases includes a massive box of Deadzone terrain from the original Kickstarter. As in some 350 bucks spent and I ONLY bought terrain. I guess I finally have an excuse to build some sci-fi terrain.
It’s time to buy some Sci fi buildings me thinks… where do people suggest to look
The artwork of the rulebook is awesome!
So glad I’ve been working on my science fiction minis and terrain. Going to come in very handy.
The table looks really good, a simple but effective build.
Really like the table set-up.
Have to find myself some more scatter terrain, too.
Got some TTcombat sets kicking around, also the buildings from Deadzone 1st edition which need assembling & painting.
I’ve also got a copy of Star Saga which will hopefully work alongside a very old copy of space crusade as spaceship or even bunker/building interiors.
Infinity: Defiance is coming in a couple of weeks, I think I will be using the models for an other game :-), but extra models are always nice. For scatter I will be using the stretch goals from Dungeons & Lasers 1 & 2.
Gerry taking a ‘humanity first’ in divvying up the important crew roles 😀
I like that , every figure can come up with his own name and background that makes you care more about your figures .
like name of one of your miniatures Gerry (picard with his mystic powers) Patrick Stewart two of his most famous rolle in one.
Fantastic job on the “stuffy stuffs” Gerry. Thanks for reminding me to build S, M and L size terrane to make it more challenging.
Delightfully mixed crews
I’ve found the objective markers used for the Aliens game are quite good. As they are lockboxes, 80’s style pcs, alien eggs, weapon turrets (could be used to mark prototypes to steal) and even 2 face huggers as random mobs.
don’t mind me, just casting my line phishing from prizes
The smaller table makes this much more accessible.
Biggest problem with any terrain is storage. I’ve had to loft most of mine until needed. I could do with some non-necromunda terrain though.
gREAt table ideas guys! thanks for the inspiration.
Any chance of please adding some links to the various places where the terrain came from?
This certainly won’t be Frostgrave in space. With all the crews having the ability to shoot the dynamic has changed.
I’m interested to hear about other themes you have in mind for scifi boards!
I think with 3d printing the sky is the limit for terrain.
I’ve settled on a starting aesthetic of Dirty Infinity – utopian buildings but concrete, streaked, graffiti-ed. That sort of thing. More scatter you say? Happy to get loads more.
Don’t google Dirty Infinity. Well do if you want, I’m not your mum, but maybe not on the work wifi
definitely looks a great pirate/freelance captains game for playing
Great job on the table! I went in with a modest pledge on the first Forward Base Kickstarter. The buildings with the resin inserts are still my favourite pieces of terrain.
Gerry did a great job on his two factions! Love the color schemes…very different. Will you guys consider using some of the ‘ol school pre-painted Star Wars minis for this game?
Great table setup. It makes me want to finish my Deadzone terrain.
Both crews look great with a cool paintjob!
I like the table setup. At 6×4, it might be to big but, still doable… I myself like these type of games on a 4×4.
Time to breakout my Battlesystem terrain (Galactic Core) for some modern type settlements!
Thanks for the vid!
looks like an endless amount of conversions ( thinking wargames atlantic cannon fodder) Imagine an alien prison ship or colony, using cannon fodder bodies and star graves alien heads ( painted of course in bright orange or even black and white stripes. have to get some of these miniatures.
Great looking terrain table as you guys always do.
A real nice table definitely want to see more
Takes me back to old school Necromunda days… Tables full of buildings, walkways, towers for snipers, weird mold that has effects on movement…
I like the “geezer” with the sword!
Also, Looking forward to painting and unboxing videos this week!
Nice looking board but I curious, how much of that did Gerry have to paint up before the filming deadline?
I think the most important aspect of setting up a Stargrave table is to not have any “sniper towers” on the board (or any high level terrain that give an LOS across the majority of the table. Perhaps you could theme your board as being underground, a space station, or have high winds stopping anyone climbing above ground level.
Too much LoS, means that everyone is going to stay static and “pew pew” at each other without moving (and only going out to reach the loot after they have killed most of the opposition). You need to make it viable for players to move across the board to grab to loot without being shot from the baseline (or from a sniper tower) from turn 1.
I’ve not got the game yet, but I’ve had the same experience from playing Frostgrave. Lots of terrain and blocking LoS is key to making up a good table 🙂
Small great game with loads and loads of scatter…….don’t let Sundancer win
One of the many appealing features of Stargrave is the table layout – from 2’x2′ upwards (though typically 3’x3′) and both indoor and outdoor settings. This is going to give lots of opportunities to use all the scatter terrain I’ve built/bought/printed over the years. Creating a good, thematic table can be almost as much fun as shooting your foes in the face. Almost.
Table looks really good
Good looking and quick to build MDF terrain!
Fantastic board – Stargrave has got me digging out figure I’ve not used in 20 years !!
Terrain setup seems similar to Infinity which is a big plus as Infinity is my main game. Using the same terrain for Stargrave is just a huge plus in my book.
If the lore is as open as Frostgrave, I’m in! Making your own stories is great fun. For me, at least. 🙂
Like an Infinity table after a powercut and several explosions?
Can’t wait to finally get to Building Tables again
great table at last i can use all my 40k terrain with an excuse to get the printers going on some lovely vehicles, construction stuff and scatter
Just thought what I could use beyond infinity and Kill Team terrain for this game. I have an old fan from a PC that I can use as terrain or a large objective. The bits you put together for your first let’s play made for a great display. I think The Drowned Earth terrain would make for an awesome scenario. Salvage from a half submerged ship or research facility.
If I ask this in enough places I should find someone who knows eventually, right?
Anyone know what range the building are from? I particularly like the look of them.
Microarts make some beautiful terrain. It’s not cheap, but really adds something extra. Your gaming table looked fantastic!
Table looks great.
I’ve got so many terrain ideas swirling around in my brain right now.
I have some of those buildings from Antenocitis Workshop but I havent put them together as I never did find the instructions for how to fit the resin interiors. Maybe nows the time to break them out
Wow, stargrave looks really interesting! Haven’t played Frostgrave before, but I’m gonna look into that as well now for sure.
That is more terrain then I was expecting. Cant wait to see it in use.
These ideas sound solid
Looks like I’ve got enough grimdark terrain sitting around to make a nice dense layout!
Great video!
Great looking board. I’m looking forward to watching the playthrough.
It’s time to start using scifi terrain from 40k, Deadzone and Core Space in one game. Super happy about this game.
I am looking forward to getting the Star Grave rulebook. Skirmish games like this are always fun to play campaigns with.
How much (if any?) of the scenery is Stargrave specific?
I now have another use for my deadzone rebels.
Going to have to finish off the SciFi scatter I’ve got lying around.
Gotta love a high terrain density!
Nice prize guys!
This build is just perfect!
Love the change to two types of treasures, trying to think up some ways to simulate that in Frostgrave.
Like the look of the new plastic and the variety, also comparable with all frostgrave models. Why can’t other manufacturers think along these lines it would make for better kits/models.
Would take me a long time to get something like this set up!
Those buildings look great. Really nice set up!
I’m going to break out my metric ton of Deadzone terrain for this game!
i want to do hawaii style planet
I’m always surprised by how much terrain these skirmish games need to work well, guess im too used to older rank and file games.
Great table, would be nice to paly Infinity on, or Stargrave if I win a book + a box 😉
This terrain rox!
Good condensed skirmish table setup.
This is a nice table
It’s gonna take me weeks to get through Stargrave week…
The Stargrave table looks great!
I have some starship corridors that might be an interesting setting for a game inside a spaceship… Lots of right angled corners so line of sight will be very limited.
Cracking looking table as usual gents. I usually say I like skirmish games because of the low model count but the fact that the tables are usually much more interesting than a mass battles game is also a huge part of it. Glad I didn’t listen to my sensible brain and get rid of all my Infinity terrain when I got out that game – it’ll be great for this
This is just perfect! 🙂
That’s pretty!
That table looks great!
It is a lovely table.
I have so much sci-fi terrain collecting dust. Spaceports, ships, etc. Glad to have this chance to use it again.
I will need to explore mats with a sci-fi feel now over my small collection of fantasy ones.
I like to play on tables with lots of things
I think Frostgrave appeals to me more, but this looks good. Love the terrain!
Building ideas are always helpful
I’m going to need a lot more scatter than I currently have to play this game!
That’s an excellent tabletop
That’s an interesting setup
The tables look good – would have liked to know more about the kits on the table. I recognise the Antenociti’s Workshop buildings (have a set myself) but would like to know about how you painted the other bits.
