G‘day everyone. From the desert to the North American woodlands and the 18th century. Might Start a project log on this one as I am hugely interested in the period, looking really much forward to the new Muskets and Tomhawks II and already have a pile of minis for the French&Indian war – mainly by AW Miniatures and Galloping Major. Here‘s the kick off though and the first bunch of figures. Cheers.February 15, 2020 at 8:48 pm #1486999All the models from Forbidden Power done. February 16, 2020 at 12:37 am #1487039Been working on some different projects but this the most recent. I’ve wanted to get the 9 Ringwraiths (Nazgul) from Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game (MESBG) and finally decided to so with a twist. Reaper Miniatures Bones series came out with some good options (including a couple metal ones so each wraith was unique) and I decided to go with them. Here are the photos with packaging:

I took inspiration from a Warhammer Community article https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/09/12/middle-earth-ringwraiths-and-ringbearersfw-homepage-post-3/ about the ring wraiths for MESBG. Here are the finished miniatures with associated “names” of the wraiths.

The Witch-King, Dwimmerlaik, and the Tainted

Khamûl the Easterling, the Betrayer and the Knight of Umbar

the Undying, Shadowlord, and the Dark Marshall
I undercoated with Krylon Flat Black, the Dry Brushed Dawnstone to do a quick edge highlight. Reaper blade steel with Citadel Nuln Oil shade for the metal. The. Various reaper and Citadel paints including contrast paints for the highlighting and details. Base was Reaper Shadow stone and citadel texture astrogranite debris, washed in Agrax Earthshade and drybrushed with Tyrant Skull. Then sealed with krylon UV Reistant clear matte coating.

GreedoFebruary 16, 2020 at 7:41 am #1487127Back to the painting table finally.
The Chainrasp horde sprue has 11 body fronts but you are meant to make a choice, because you can only make 10 models with the parts provided.
I am considering sculpting a very basic back to the last model with green stuff and the bits box. Wish me luck. ?

February 18, 2020 at 10:38 am #1488050February 18, 2020 at 8:43 pm #1488180I have been at work on the vampires that will make up the Soul Reavers for my Kings of War undead army. I have ten of the Mantic sculpts which are adequate, at best, and will add some more from Reaper Bones as the front rank (unless I make two troops instead of one regiment then it would be “ranks”).

February 19, 2020 at 7:28 am #1488233I have finished Vader for my Star Wars Legion force and I have tried to made the blacks of the clothing and armour look and feel different. Mainly done be painting Different shades of grey, I love Vallejo Black Grey and German Grey, and then using Vallejo Black Glaze to matt down the clothing and using Vallejo Game Wash Black for the armour as it has a glossy look to it.
The light sabre is a red glaze over a white base to give the feeling of a grown and the used the red glaze as light source reflections on the clothing and armour.

Might be a little bit too shiney. Used some Agrax (see yellow plates), but light sand wash from Alclad II too. Overall i am still content with the result. Gunner follows.
