Bow Before Zaal Or Be Run Over By A Meat Thresher In Hordes!

Privateer Press have also shown off a pair of Hordes releases that will be coming soon. Not only have they looked at the mysterious minds behind Skorne but also a very awesome Farrow driven machine...

Bow Before Zaal!

Kicking things off for Skorne and Hordes we have Zaal, The Ancestral Advocate who looks like be belongs in an 80's/90's Saturday morning cartoon. That just means he is doubly evil!

Zaal, the Ancestral Advocate

"Supreme Aptimus Zaal exemplified the power of the extoller caste, whether communing with the honored dead or leading a host of ancestral guardians and immortals in battle. Mortally wounded in one such battle against Ios, Zaal refused to surrender to the Void, preserving himself with his last breath.

His devoted followers recovered his sacral stone and fused him into a new form worthy of his stature. Zaal retains leadership of his caste as the Ancestral Advocate, and both his will and his connection to the spirit realm are stronger than ever."

As you can see he is another in a long list of Warlocks and Warcasters getting their Epic versions with the Reckoning book. I think he is a very impressive model and while I don't particularly like the disc on his back I can see why it has been implemented into the design.

I think you could have a lot of fun with some object source lighting and all that bale fire.

Rev That Engine!

On a slightly less serious note we have something equally impressive in the Farrow Battle Engine, the Meat Thresher!

Meat Thresher

"The meat thresher is a rolling death machine conceived of twisted farrow ingenuity and built of plunder. A scorching-hot steel cylinder holding panicked razor boars provides locomotion and is also the meat thresher’s primary weaponry, flattening foes under its crushing weight.

Those that escape being ground to pulp are mowed down by heavy-caliber rounds from the hailer mounted atop this surprisingly effective contraption."

Why bother being subtle when you can just drive this across the battlefield and smash, grind, pound and pulp everything in your path. I think this is a fantastic piece of engineering and plays into the more fun side of Hordes that I think makes it more appealing than Warmachine.

Will you be picking either of these models up?
