It's the last day of Uprising Week and we're revealing the next expansion for Aristeia!: Smoke & Mirrors from Corvus Belli.
In this video we do a quick unboxing of the previous expansion, Soldiers of Fortune, to give an idea of what you can expect from an Aristeia! expansion.
This latest expansion adds four new characters to the roster:
- TaoWu
- Murtair
- Father Inquisitor Mendoza
- Kozmo

I must admit Aristeia has slipped by me, this does look interesting
love the look of the smoke and mirrors miniatures
iam not in touch for aristeia right now, but the new miniatures look interesting.
My wallet is not happy with Beasts of War this week…
Kind of like the look of Ariesta, but I think I’ve got a few too many games to deal with already before I can think about starting more.

Looks cool. I’m still waiting for the Soldiers of Fortune expansion to be released, though. Also waiting to find time to paint up the core set (damn you, Mythic Battles, for stealing away all my painting time).

Really like that each box more or less contains a cross over with Infinity
I still haven’t got to give Aristeia a go yet. I see it every time I’m at my FLGS and really need to grab a copy. Love how it is really growing the Infinity universe while remaining a very different game that is a unique play experience unto itself.
Also… that Senor Massacre sculpt is just perfect! 🙂
Aristeia is a great game, and I can see already a synergy between Wild Bill and Kozmo, you draw a lot of cards while you opponent is loosing cards. 😉

I was giving serious thought to Aristeia, but my group has got quite into Shadespire and not sure there’s a lot of interest at my local club either.
Beautiful minis as always, and does still look very interesting.
I wish that Massacre got a generally released metal blister.
Otherwise, I’ll say I’ve seen Aristeia be generally well accepted and integrated into regular gaming around these parts.

Not bad, interesting characters, but I expected more info about the “Uprising” Infinity book.
I do like their character creation.
GW and Blizzard called to get their designs back.
Not that those two are particularly known for their originality either.

Sorry that I have to say this, but Aristeia! has absolutely nothing to do with Infinity Uprising and should not have been included in this week’s Videos. BoW: Fail.

Aristeia seems to be allowing Corvus belli to play around a bit more within the universe, get a little less serious. I think its great to really flesh out the world of infinity. Next they need to do a racing game!!!
Ariesta is a lot of fun at the base level and as long as the new ones stay balanced it should continue to be fun.
Definitely on the wish list this to get this year. Keep on beinging the good stuff Corvus Belli!!!!
I like these colorful characters. It really have this shonen feeling that I was waiting for this game.

The miniatures look outstanding especially Tauwu and Kozmo. I really enjoyed playing the demo at last year’s Interplanetario but never seen to have the funds to pick it up

So much good Aristeia! content coming this year. I really wish they were pushing it harder, it is fast becoming my favorite game. All the fun of a MOBA with out the pain of a team of MOBA players : P

Hmm… I’m not sure how I feel about the Wulver… away from the Infinity world, he looks good. Being part of it… I don’t know. I DO like the more anime feel of everything in Aristeia, so I think I’ll just go with that: He’s a solid Aristeia model. 😉
I really want to see the “from the shadows” expansion, I hope it is full of criminals. They could be arms brokers for the JSA.

That’s an interesting set of characters, they each bring a lot of character and personality which is great for a sport as much about showmanship as combat.

i really love the aristiea minitures, but the main reason i dont really want to play the game is cause there is no terrain 🙁 terrainis what makes these battles really fun for me. Thats another reason why i think infinity is such a great game, it comes with all these cool colorful terrain packs. i really enjoy that aspect of the game 🙂 Then again if aristia could be adapted to be played in a normal terrain setup i think it would be fantastic! ( the lack of terrain is also why i never got into warmachine or hordes as all the tourney players near my house use pieces of paper to signify terrain.)

All those miniatures look brilliant but I’ve really not hit it off with the Plastic used in Aristeria. I’d love chance to get Metal versions.
Nice expansion box with interesting caricatures the mech looks to be good as well.
Man… I wish I had the money for both the JSA stuff and Aristeia! It looks like a blast to play. I can’t wait to get my own copy….you know in like 8 months when I can start buying stuff not related to the JSA or one of the NA Armies.

I love the game. Unfortunately, here are not enough players for a real tournament scene. I really hope Aristeia! gets more attention, it deserves it.
Inquisitor Mendoza is my kind of guy! Purify with fire? Burn the non-believers? Yes please. Nobody could possibly expect that right? With his lovely shiny uniform and fanatical devotion to the Space (?) Pope. I mean, he obviously has complete control of the weapons of fear and surprise…that’s a given!…but also fire? …. yes please!

So, if I understand this correctly, you will be able to cross play Aristeia in Infinity and the other way around?
I think he was referring to how Musashi, Major Lunah, and Senor Massacre are also characters that you can field in regular Infinity games. Not all of the Aristos have the personality types to run black ops missions in their spare time.
No it’s just some characters such as miyamoto musashi and senior massacre are also available as metal minis in Infinity. Same Universe same scale different game system. Not all aristeia minis work in infinity and not all infinity minis work in aristeia just a small selection.
Definitely looking forward to more mercenary action in Infinity. Druze Bayam was cool enough as it is- now we get THREE more merc teams!

I know the usual path is for the anime influences of the game to get me more interested in Infinity. But this week’s debut of the Kuroshi Rider introduced to an anime I hadn’t watched before. 😀 I’m really enjoying Celty and Durarara!! Thanks for that. Cheers!

Kozmo, Even if it’s just to be placed off board, just for show. I think it’d be cool.
Or perhaps have her in play and if you can knock her out Kozmo becomes redundant.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Infinity lately and these JSA sets just look awesome
I like the look of Soldiers of Fortune. Smoke & Mirrors leans a bit too much towards WoW / Overwatch styling to my taste. Comical and over the top, but a little less Infinity flavor.
Still need to get people playing the core set, but I’m looking forward to picking up these expansions.

Haven’t started Aristea yet, looks good but not a lot of folks playing it in my area.
Aristiea looks better and better every time i see it.
the scope for bananas characters is huge. the setting is tailor made for OTT and CB have taken full advantage with a whole bunch of crazy cool cats.
breaking into a tough market place is an uphill struggle but Aristiea has the quality to do it. it’s going to take time though, especially without the high impact foot up of kickstarter. not that Aristiea suited kickstarter especially, just that the approach taken and needed was always likely to be a slow burner. like i said there is no doubting the quality of the game or its presentation and 8.8 on boardgamegeek is a strong starting point. as the expansions start landing i can see its unfolding depth of game play being a large factor in any potential success.
would have been a good idea to of had a lets play with the new expansion as well as the Infinity one.
i’m going to say a few words in summary about infinity. firstly bravo with both the narrative and miniatures for the japanese, both beautiful and brilliant.
second i’d like to say a little for yu jing. i would love, love ,love to see Bruce Lee. there i said it. all i could think about was Fist of Fury. if your going to do the whole Chinese vs Japanese thing then this is an absolute must. this film is what made me choice Chinese kung fu over the way of the samurai.
all i can say is go watch the film again. all i have in my head is Bruce delivering the line”we are not sick men” bum bum,bum bum bum, bum bum bum, bum bum bum. make it so.
and while your at it Pai mei for imperial service. his legend makes him a perfect fit. his attitude in Kill Bill is spot on for how the top Chinese masters view the Japanese arts. in fact there are a whole load of classic kung fu archetypes you guys are just not taking advantage of. the enormous wealth of ridiculously cool Chinese masters so much more to offer than the shaolin line troops. so come on CB time to show the masters of Chinese kung fu the love you’ve just shown the Japanese.

Not my game, but they are doing a good job. I’m glad they didn’t choose to go with the plastics for Infinity, though. Yes these are really good quality plastics, but still don’t compare to the detail on their metals.
I was wondering how the new expansion would tie in with Aristeia.
I have not gotten into this yet but not because I do not want to. I love the figures and I have watched the play throughs. It is just a case of not enough time. Each time I watch this I get closer to making the jump. This might just be the time.

I really like the style of the aristeia models is also nice that the expansions have a variety of different models themes, makeing it super fun to paint.

It’s a fantastic game! I can’t stop persuading friends to play it or check it out. One of the brilliant things about it is that every game I’ve played it has gone down to the wire, and could have gone to either player in the final move of the final turn. The simple rules and the ‘easy to play hard to master tactics’ make it a great game to take round to your local game club or gathering. But my favourite bit about it has to be the incredible backstory and fluff for the characters and game itself. It’s almost like you can imagine this being aired on TV in the infinity verse! When my friends and I start up the infinity RPG w’re planning on getting it involved in to our narrative some how to. Like maybe have characters ‘betting’ on who gets the most kills or points, or even what team wins. Aristeia and Corvus Belli is only going on the up with I’m sure even greater things to come!

Nice looking minis. Straight out of the box to the board is a nice bonus!
My love for the JSAS rider Lt with dogged in intense. Plus she is Kawaii as all heck too! The official paint scheme is a little too staid IMHO she needs to get her “Bubblegum Crisis” Pink with a mix of RWBY royal-blue due to her death-scythe so similar look just a bit more in the purples in both the red taking it to pinks in the highs an same with the blues taking it visually into the purples.

I really fancy trying Aristeia but just don’t have the time to put into it. I love the crossover into Infinity with some of the characters. The concept artwork and renders are awesome as always. It’s really nice to see more expansions.
I have always wanted to get into Infinity, ever seeing it on Beastsofwar but i just never been able to get the money together, but from what i have seen about Infinity it looks like a game I would absolute love.
