Infinity – Sneak Peek: Unidron Batroids

Time for another exclusive preview from the guys over at Infinity! This month we have the Unidron Batroids, a box of four miniatures covering all weapon options for these badass warriors of the Combined Army.
For weapon load out we have a ton of options, including the K1 Combi Rifle, the Spitfire, the Plasma Sniper Rifle, or the always devastating Missile Launcher!
We've even been sent some really cool back story for these guys, giving us a bit of flavour for the E.I's newest fighters:
"When the E.I requires soldiers, it does not bother to recruit them. It harvests them.
The bulk of the Ur armed forces that the E.I used to jumpstart its campaign of conquest was comprised of Batroids, techno-organic units designed for action in hostile environments. In the Ur culture, the use of Batroids as operatives predates even the creation of the Evolved Intelligence, but the E.I has been able to use them as a tactical resource to great effect. These silicon-based/carbon-based hybrids are cultivated in rapid-growth plantations using a monitored pseudo-intelligent substrate. Their mind-structure is based on the neural pathways of the Ruaria, animals bred by ancient Ur as pets and hunting companions, but also for war and exploration. Ruaria were highly appreciated for their courage and unwavering loyalty."

Corvus Belli does it again! Such great sci-fi aliens, but I must stay strong and refuse the heathen Combined Army with all the strength of a PanO Templar. It doesn´t hurt that they look a little bit like the good old Earthworm Jim. 🙂
I’m not into Combined Army. Don’t really get the aesthetics, not really into their fluff.
But… those things are so impressive – like a cross between an Alien and a Cylon toaster. Nice.

Those are really cool. Not as cool as TAGs of course but still.
My friends have been pushing me to give Infinity another go and CB is not helping by producing all of these amazing Combined Army models.
Since I’m wrapping up my Malifaux spending (at least until more Resurrectionist models come out) I DO have a gap in my budget.
Can’t let myself get into a fourth game system though. So Infinity would be it (famous last words of all gamers, I know…but I’m trying here!)
These minis are beautiful, gonna have to start infinity just for these dudes
At present I don’t believe these fit in either of the N2 CA sectorials – but there was a hint if a new CA sectorial coming in AFalls which hopefully these ( and other models in the CA starter) fit in.
This company rarely misfires and this is another direct hit!
