Grab Medbury’s New Guinea Campaign WW2 Aussies!
August 1, 2025 by brennon
Medbury Miniatures has now launched their Kickstarter campaign for their range of World War II Australian Infantry that would have been fighting as part of the New Guinea Campaign. This has been put together in partnership with Victor Perry of Adventure Miniatures.
Australian Officers and NCOs // Medbury Miniatures
The current range of figures starts at around forty miniatures and has been designed to work with a mixture of platoon-sized wargames. This means that you'll get all of the notable options for your armies, including your characters (like the Officers and NCOs above), your standard Riflemen and plenty of Support Weapons.

When it comes to the offerings as part of the Kickstarter, you'll be able to choose from either STL files, so you can print your digital miniatures at home or you can go for lovely physical figures in cold, hard, metal!
Support Weapons I // Medbury Miniatures
This first collection from Medbury features the Australian Infantry from the 2nd AIF, fighting around 1943. They are based on extensive research provided by Victor, which has explored both the uniforms that they would have worn during the period as well as their choice of weapon. Much of this has been done by referencing contemporary images.

The idea is that if this campaign goes well, then Medbury and Adventure can return to these Australians and bulk out the offerings so you get access to more troops, variants and perhaps even vehicles at some point.

I really like the character that we're seeing in all of the soldiers and the different variants on offer amongst the collection. These would be perfect for use in Bolt Action as a specific force for the Pacific but they could also fit into a myriad of other games as well, of course.
There is a mixture of different pledge options for you to choose from, some of them represented here.

Again, it should be pointed out that you can go for either digital or physical miniatures, depending on what you prefer and if you have access to a 3D printer (or a friend!) at home. The campaign is running for around twenty days (at the time of writing), so you've got some time to delve in and snap these up.
What do you make of these proud Aussie soldiers slogging through New Guinea?
