Critical Role, the popular Dungeons & Dragons livestream team, have just been picked up by Amazon for not one but TWO seasons of their Legends Of Vox Machina animated series which raised a frankly staggering $11,385,449 on Kickstarter.

The Legend Of Vox Machina

The new agreement with Amazon expands on the fourteen episodes planned from the Kickstarter. Now there are twenty-four episodes in the work spread across two seasons. This means that as well as following the Briarwood Arch from their campaign which saw the group going up against a clan of usurper Vampires we might see things continue into Vox Machina's clash with the various dragons of the Chroma Conclave which saw this band of adventurers battling to save Tal'Dorei from a terrifying draconic threat.

Originally through Kickstarter, the group mentioned that backers would get the first look at the series and that will still be the case. They will not only still get access to a two-part special which airs before the Amazon Prime release date but also be able to watch the entire first season for free. Beyond that, the series is still primed (hah) for a late 2020 release date.

It's good to see that Critical Role's relationship with Twitch has allowed them to develop this on a popular streaming service. A lot of people will now get to experience the adventures of Vox Machina and meet this colourful cast of characters.

This, again, shows the massive cultural impact Dungeons & Dragons is having once more on the world.
