Another awesome preview dropped for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar today from Games Workshop. Take a look at the badass-looking Reclusians of The Ruination Chamber that have been unleashed by Sigmar to battle the growing threat of the Skaven in The Mortal Realms.

As you'll know already if you've been reading the unfolding lore for the next edition of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar, the God-King has had to call on some of his most powerful and yet dangerous Stormcast Eternals to battle the rise of Chaos and the surging swarm of the Skaven. The Ruination Chamber is made up of those Stormcast Eternals who have a lot much of their souls through multiple reforgings but their experience on the battlefield is unrivalled and so having them in the vanguard is a risk but one he is willing to take.

Now, they are being unleashed on the battlefield in thunderstrike armour and wielding powerful runic weapons forged in Ayzr. They are armed and armoured in a way that would make a Chaplain of the Space Marines very proud indeed.

The Mortal Realms has plenty of bright and fantastical elements in it but if you're looking for the grimdark, you can certainly see it in the design of these miniatures and a lot of what we've seen developed for the Cities Of Sigmar over the past few years. I think these miniatures look stunning from their baroque armour through to their gaunt facemasks and all of that chainmail. The various litanies fluttering from their armour also help to nail that grimdark vibe.

You'll also note that the Reclusians march into battle alongside some monkish allies. The Memorians are mortal priests who have a connection to the Stormcast Eternals. Their job is to follow the Reclusians into battle and make sure that that shred of humanity isn't lost in the middle of the fighting.
