Game Fleet Productions have been running a rather spiffing looking campaign for their weird and wonderful Sci-Fi/Steampunk looking game called Clockwork Armada. Find out more below...

Clockwork Armada

The World Of Clockwork Armada

So what is this crazy mixed up world that you can see in the image above? Well, planets are flat and the laws of physics has been turned on their collective heads. Outer space becomes the Deep Sky and out there in the darkness aliens hide amongst the mist and clouds...

Cathesian Fleet

The first fleet to have a look at is the Carthesian Fleet who have ships based on those from the Age of Sail that once sailed out own oceans. Cruisers and Battle Cruisers come with a range of options including cannons, beam weapons, shield generators and mage bunkers for casting spells.

Moren Confederation

The Moren Confederation on the other hand are more in keeping with the Dreadnoughts of World War I. They have the same type of weapons as the Carthesian Fleet but also have access to mighty lightning cannons.

The Rules

From the Kickstarter...

"Clockwork Armada uses an alternate activation game round, which means that once the fleets are deployed and the game begins, each player takes turns activating their ships.  A ship's Thrust value determines how many inches it may move in an activation, and the Course Ruler is used when ships need to turn.

Since ships must always move at least half their available distance in an activation, players must plan ahead as it may take a few turns to get back into the fight if a ship finds itself out of position."

Painted Ships

The mechanics sounds great for this and they use some interesting aspects of other games of this sort then expand upon them to create an interesting new game. If you want to find out more about the game then head on over to see the ships cards, the movement rules and more.

What do you think?
