Ill Gotten Games Bring Chaos To The Streets Of Plasma
April 7, 2025 by brennon
Ill Gotten Games is on Kickstarter right now with a new game and a range of miniatures for you to dive into with a post-apocalyptic 1980s twist. The rubble of New York City is calling and there are plenty of quirky gangs for you to choose from.

Here's some of the background for the game and the range of miniatures...
"1988. It’s been three years since THE SHRED, an extra-dimensional event that flooded our reality with invaders from beyond. Now, in the rubble of New York City, the Survival Gangs have united to fight back the alien intruders and reclaim the five boroughs for the remnants of humanity..."
When players dive into Streets Of Plasma, you'll be taking on the role of gangs of survivors or extra-dimensional alien invaders battling it out for survival in New York City. Streets Of Plasma itself is based on the wargaming rules, OpenTactics, by Ill Gotten Games, which have then been expanded and updated in a few different ways...
- Fast-paced comparative d6 resolutions are based on the highest numbers rolled
- Dynamic unit activation system with deep strategy
- Use full terrain with free measurement or grid-based maps - the game supports both
More is coming soon, including a modular system to work from and update, which will allow for customisable rules and more, depending on what your gaming group enjoys. At the core of the game are the factions and there are plenty of STL files for you to download.
Maybe you go with the Gutterbabies, who are some of the survivors of the apocalypse now trying to carve out a place of safety within the ruins of New York.

Going up against them are one of the numerous alien factions looking to claim a spot on Earth for themselves. Here we have the Reptiloids!

These fellows come from an alternative Earth where dinosaurs evolved into psionically gifted humanoids! They are now scouting this new dimension with the hope of expanding their pan-dimensional empire.
A few more factions have been previewed over on Kickstarter so you can expand the variety available when diving into Streets Of Plasma. Maybe you find yourself throwing your lot in with the Mechanyte Battle Force?

You could also go a bit weird and wonderful with the mind-altering power of the Parasite Mind! As well as the shifting mass that is the brain bug itself, you've also got a host of brain-mutants who are unfortunate victims, now taken over to do the Parasite Mind's bidding.

Stretch Goals then introduce another set of miniatures that I think might be right up Lloyd's alley. You could snap up the Killa-Bot Patrol, who act as a set of hostile NPCs, will then become a problem for everyone.

There is plenty more for you to sink your teeth into as part of this small but fun campaign by Ill Gotten Games. You can get numerous factions, the rules to download and play games and also some terrain which could be good for setting up a thematically appropriate tabletop.
Make sure to check out more from Streets Of Plasma and choose a faction!

Agh.. Solarbabies screams from the depths of what would have remained settled in the mental muck of my guttermind. Gutterbabies, indeed, though the Reptiliods should get more of a Hell Comes to Frogtown treatment.
Anyone interested in this should check out the publication Cinema Sewer for inspiration on your gangs.
