Mortal Gods Persians Coming Very Soon From Footsore

Footsore Miniatures & Games has shown off some previews of the upcoming Persians, fantastically painted, for use in the expanding Mortal Gods.
As well as a bunch of single characters which might be useful as leader characters the range will also bolster the rank and file options for the game giving you a warband worthy of taking on the forces of Greece.
A vast array of weapon options are going to be available which work within the period, giving you the options to build diverse armies on the tabletop. Whilst it's good that we started things off with the pure Greek States clashing against each other I think the Persians will add a new dynamic to the game.
One of the key things here for me is that the addition of the Persians offers up another splash of colour in an already colourful game. Yes, there will still be a lot of bronze on display but you'll also find this gives way to brightly coloured uniforms in rich purples, blues and yellows.
If you're an avid painter I could see the Persians being the force for you. Also, you don't have to struggle with deciding between freehanding and transfers when it comes to their shields either which is always a plus.
As well as the classic clash between warring nations it will be fun to see what other forces get thrown into the mix in Mortal Gods. Skeletons wait in the wings for those that like their mythological adventures but it would be good to see what else pops up on the historical front.

Fantastic. I’ve had some fun with some left-over Gripping Beast Arab sprues and some spare Holites to slake my thirst for Persian loveliness but the resins due out from Footsore are looking very tasty. Ironic really, dived headlong into Mortal Gods but spent the better part of the weekend putting some Romans and proxy Persians together haha. Can’t wait for the Legendary Heroes release speculated for later in the year, love to be able to pit Leonidas against Xerxes!!

I can see a Hot Gates ” survive as many waves as you can ” scenario for these.
Waiting to see these rumoured plastic Persians come out (we also need slingers), just for Ancient Gaming in general. These are very nice but at resin prices too expensive if you are looking at building up an army (PS their Thracian Peltasts just released were VERY good as well (but also 3 in resin for 18 quid)). I wonder how and if Footsore are going to work not Greek City States into Mortal Gods (there’s Thrace and Persia as well as some of the Greek “colonies” across the Adriatic that took on some of the troop types and tactics of… Read more »
I love these, I’ve still nor managed to pick up mortal gods as I was away of the pre order period. I’m now waiting for the next batch of core boxes but these persions are very nice. The individuality of the models appeals to me more than the Spartans or Athenians
Nice figures.
The Persian sculpts are really lovely. They tempt me to start a Persian force. But I think I’ll stick to my Greek mercenaries for now.
