Blood & Pigment are running a "Great Pirate Paint Off" soon which leads up to their massive Summer Of Plunder later in 2023. Run in conjunction with Firelock Games and a bunch of other creators, they are looking to get your crews painted up and ready for an adventure on the high seas in Blood & Plunder.

The Painting Contest is going to run from February 26th to May 14th with entries showcased throughout the period of the contest. At the end of the process, there will be a public voting process which will work out the overall winners ahead of the Summer Of Plunder.

The full rules for the contest can be found on their Entry Form page but it covers Blood & Plunder miniatures as well as Oak & Iron Ships. It goes without saying that the miniatures should be official Firelock creations.

Miniatures should be painted to tabletop standard (as they explain, not one solid colour) and could fit into a variety of different categories including Commanders, Units, Full Forces, Blood & Plunder Ships or Oak & Iron Ships.

The complete list of prizes for entrants will be revealed when the contest goes live on February 26th but from the sounds of it, there is going to be a bevvy of awesomeness for you to dive into. I do like that this is going to be a nice, laidback way for you to start getting a lot of stuff painted ahead of the Summer Of Plunder which is going to be their massive summer campaign for Blood & Plunder. It should mean that a lot of folks will have fully painted crews and fleets whilst also having some options to win prizes along the way.
