The Bad & The Ugly Releases Coming To Dead Man’s Hand!
January 31, 2025 by brennon
Great Escape Games are now taking pre-orders for The Bad & The Ugly additions to the Wild West wargaming world of Dead Man's Hand. Building on the Redux revamp of the game, you can now pre-order new rules and get your hands on some great gangs to suit.
The Bad & The Ugly // Dead Man's Hand
The new sourcebook features new information on running thirteen new factions for Dead Man's Hand. You will need the original Dead Man's Hand Redux Rulebook to make use of this but you'll be able to play as the likes of the US Cavalry, Banditos, Bushrangers, Confederados, The Family, Kelly Gang, Pinkertons, Renegade Apaches, Regulators, Spirit Walkers, The Malevolent Seven, The Baron and The Count.
Equally, there will be new Legends Of The West including The Bad, The Ugly, Maeve Newton, Dolores Wood, English Bob, Rafe Melmont, Pat Garrett, Frank Daniels, Buckshot Roberts, Jon Pain, The Scarred Man and Ely Fergus.
Twelve new scenarios then complete the book across four new acts and you also get The Ugly, the gribbly beasties of the Dead Man's Hand world with a twist.
There are a few options for you to choose from when it comes to the new book and bundles. For example, you can get one with the cards and such thrown in alongside the book. Also, pre-orders of the book can net you a miniature of The Bad for free. The Ugly is also available but sold separately.

Both of these characters are also available separately if you'd prefer to just get them without the rules.
New Dead Man's Hand Factions
As well as the rules, you'll also be able to get some new faction packs that will get you started around a particular theme. You could go for The Family which we've seen before.
The Family // Dead Man's Hand
Pushed from town to town, they bring the word of The Prophet to all who will listen but those who seem immune to their "charms" might end up getting cold hard steel!
You could also throw your lot in with the Confederados and do some fighting down on the border.
Confederados // Dead Man's Hand
The war might have finished but for these soldiers, it still goes on. This captain and his ragtag band of misfits are up for causing chaos throughout the countryside, reliving the thrill they felt back during the war. Maybe a couple of bounty hunters need to put these folks down for good.
If you're looking to add some swagger to proceedings then you might like the look of The Regulators.
Regulators // Dead Man's Hand
Led by The Kid, they are lawless, wild and untamed and make sure that everyone knows that the town is their playground. No one dares to challenge them but perhaps you could stir up some local support to put an end to their mischief.
Last but not least, the weird comes to the world of Dead Man's Hand with the Spirit Walkers.
Spirit Walkers // Dead Man's Hand
When you've been shoved off your land by invaders from another country it seems apt that these folk are ready to use whatever means necessary to get some payback. In tune with the spirits, they bring snarling companions to scare the crap out of those who would call their rightful home their own.
All of these miniatures are up for pre-order right now giving you some new options for Dead Man's Hand games.
Are you intrigued by The Bad and The Ugly?

I will be pre-ordering in next few days. Just need to decide what else I’m buying.
I don’t play any Wild West games, and am not intending to start, but these models look gorgious! Sorry, I mean ugly. Gorgeously ugly!
A few years ago I would have thought Dead Mans Hand was.. well… dead. But I am very glad to see them thriving with these great new releases. Next up: Revitalizing the Chicago Way line!
It’s been our best selling range for may years! Chicago Way gets new gangs this year, plus loads more stuff next year…
He’s holding the boomstick the wrong way!
Oh, these look fun!
You know, I’ve got so many of their miniatures, I wonder if I should actually get their game?
yes, that is all.
