Age of Sigmar had 200 players. Speaking to the convention organisers it was to the best of their knowledge the largest AoS tourney held anywhere in the world to date. Spare a thought for the Tournament Organisers. 200 players on over 100 tables over three days – now that is a logistical nightmare. Everything did seem to be running smoothly and people were having a great time.

…And there were so many pretty armies!

Chain of Command (COC) was also being held at Cancon. Very much a narrative and relaxed focus and the people I spoke to on Day 1 really had a great time. The tables were simply outstanding.

I had trouble finding the COC at first as with all the other games squeezing in on the COC the COC area was long and thin compared to most gaming area footprints. While they were likely hard pressed for space, the TO’s did manage to work the COC in, although I gather it must have been a tight fit. The COC ended up nestled along the side back behind the second entrance if anybody wanted to go and admire it.

OK, I’ll stop now and move on to the cream of the Clash of Kings, shall I?…

Some of the 'play all day' board gamer participants. I spent my day at the 3 main tabletop pavilions so didn't actually make it over to the one with the rest of the board gamers and the RPG sessions, but I'm sure everyone there was having a great time too. Some of the 'play all day' board gamer participants. The 40k competitive seemed no less friendly than the 40K Friendly. I'm inferring the main difference was in how fluffy the lists were...The 40k competitive seemed no less friendly than the 40K Friendly. I'm inferring the main difference was in how fluffy the lists were...
Warmachine was additionally being played but I didn't get many photos as the game is quite intense from what I understand and I didn't want to distract the competitors ;-)Warmachine was additionally being played but I didn't get many photos as the game is quite intense from what I understand and I didn't want to distract the competitors ;-)
