If you love RPG's and storytelling games, then you should absolutely check out the rich world of The Witchborn.

The Witchborn was a successful Kickstarter in 2014 that marries RPG's with miniature gaming and a technology twist...

In this game, players develop a clan of 8 warriors, with various skills sets. The tech piece is an app that allows you to create your character pool. The characters in this game are all the favorites that we have come to expect in dungeon crawler RPGs - Dwarves, Elves, Guild, Norn, Orcs and Paladins. Players move through this game exploring terrain, grabbing treasure and completing whatever quest is thrown their way.

The real twist in this game is that when a character dies, it doesn't leave the board, you merely lose control of it. No one dies, they become The Witchborn. The AI element of the game controls characters as they die, which is troublesome as all the skill and abilities that you have acquired through your game play, is now at the hands of the enemy- and growing stronger!

The other fantastic element of the game is the beautiful terrain maps. Players can print and play maps on their own, but for a really immersive experience, ordering the large maps really brings the games to life.

This world just grows and grows through each game as players store their progress and "level up", if you will.

We had the pleasure of talking to the game creators at Adepticon. Not only does it sounds like a great concept, but their printed maps were absolutely lovely with great little 3D effects.

Care to try your hand at this clever new storytelling game?
