Three years ago Spartan Games announced that they were going to be working on a new edition of their space fleet combat game Firestorm Armada. unfortunately, the company perished soon afterwards but now Warcradle Studios who picked up the license have started to focus on the 3rd Edition to bring the game back in all its glory and they need your help to make it all that it can be.

Over at their website www.firestormarmada.com you can download beta versions of the rules and fleet lists to get involved in helping to make the new edition the best version yet. If you're already an owner of the older version of the game you can jump in with what you have and see what you think and send them constructive feedback, as they say themselves "nothing is yet written in stone" so everything can be explored.

If you want to get involved and don't already have ships that you can use lying around they have also made base, ships and tokens available as PDFs for you to print and play with at home. It's great to see Firestorm getting the cobwebs blown off and I hope that this new edition will attract new players to it who may have missed out the first time around.

Open beta testing is also good, although I'm glad I'm not having to read the submitted feedback, so if you're a fan of the game and have thoughts on issues that you've fixed with house rules years ago now is your chance to submit them and get your say.

Are you planning on jumping into the Beta?
