The Hunt Begins As Forge World Reveal New White Scars
April 6, 2019 by dracs
The White Scars of the Horus Heresy featured prominently in the new book Malevolence. Now, Forge World have two new additions to their armies up for pre-order.
Follow the Khan
First, we find a Praetor, one of the Khans of the White Scars, ready to lead from the front in his Terminator Armour.
The White Scars are one of my favourite Space Marine legions and this figure looks the part of one of their stoic leaders. The eagle and the helmet design are especially cool touches.
However, I can't help but feel a little disappointed by this. Compared to the stances coming out of Games Workshop's main line, this one looks a bit dull.
Can't Keep A Good White Scar Down
Alongside this, we also have the White Scars' Contemptor Dreadnought.
The Contemptor Dreadnoughts are among some of the coolest walker miniatures out there and this one is no different.
However, I think that might be my problem with it. Compared to some of the other Legion specific dreadnought variants there isn't too much happening with this model to make it stand out.
Still, it is an impressive figure and would make for a great central piece for a White Scars force.
What are your thoughts on these two from Forge World?

Meh…. really not my cup of coffee… something really bugs me about those sculpts but I can’t put my finger on it…
The paintjob is dreadful for a promo. Imho the sculpts are fine, but that’s what is off-putting I think.
Maybe it’s ’cause they look like obese white cylons instead of humans ?
The statue-like pose isn’t doing the minis any favours either.
He’s got a flocking bird on his arm, but it might as well be a statue too.
is that lord flash hart with the cod piece dreadnought?
woof woof ! 😉
Not a fan unfortunately and I do like the White Scars 🙁
The first one just makes me think “if abaddon has a top know I can have 3!”
Also they don’t feel very white scars
While Khan has fine sculpt that static pose that he was given doesn’t make him any favors. He stands there like Superman (that DC character) with bird on his arm. While that Contemptor Dreadnought looks fine it doesn’t really feel that special.
I really like the Contemptor. The pose can always be changed to add more movement or action. I think there are plenty of details which mark it out.
I’m less of a fan of the terminator. I like the arm with the eagle, but the rest of it looks a bit awkward to me.
