40K’s Raven Guard Chapter Detailed & New Reiver Kits!

July 17, 2017 by brennon

Games Workshop recently showed off what's coming for the Raven Guard in an article which focuses on the Chapter from Warhammer 40,000. But, it also showed off the new Primaris Reiver kit too!

Raven Guard

The Raven Guard are masters of stealth and intrigue, working in the shadows as they strike their enemies from afar and in the back when no one's looking. Their Chapter rule certainly emphasises that.

Shadow Masters is a pretty awesome rule showcasing the Raven Guard being able to avoid their enemies gaze until the opportune moment. Maybe you'll be able to bring into play a lot of Scouts with their sniper rifles and Assault Space Marines which wait in the wings until the right time to strike.

Reivers From The Shadows

Additionally, they also showed off the Primaris replacement for such Scouts with the Reivers.

Raven Guard Reivers

You can see some of them here shown off skulking around these containers. Here's more on how they work in-game...

"Reivers, on the other hand, are a versatile and powerful unit in a Raven Guard army and function well with other assault units; they’re almost as mobile as jump troops with their grapnel launchers and grav-chutes, with some handy abilities like Terror Troops and shock grenades.

If you want to make your own Raven Guard characters, their unique Warlord Trait, Silent Stalker, prevents enemies from firing Overwatch, while the Raven’s Fury Chapter relic allows a jump pack character to move at blistering speeds and reroll charge ranges – combined, you’ll have a potent and deadly character assassin."

The kit is looking fantastic and shows off some leaner and more deadly looking Primaris Space Marines who are not at all averse to getting up close and personal with the enemy. Hopefully it won't be long until we get a closer look at these models.

What do you think?
