In the wake of Gen Con, Privateer Press is still getting some new releases out for those diving into Warmachine and the new edition of the game. A couple of the new releases are focused on Khador and bolstering your infantry offerings to aid your onslaught of Warjacks.

Arkanists // Warmachine

The first of these sets are the Arkanists. Equipped with some experimental arcane apparatus, they are looking to exploit the volatile nature of their weaponry to cause some serious damage to the enemy. They come with the Arcane Reinforcement and Empower special actions and their primary means of attack is the Razor Wind special attack.

I love how the miniatures are showing the miniatures almost venerating their special arcane weapons. I don't think that I would be particularly enamoured with the idea of having to carry around volatile magical explosives.

If you want to blow your enemies away in a different way then how about getting your Shock Trooper Gunners into position on an objective or two?

Shock Trooper Gunners // Warmachine

The armour that these soldiers wear has been alchemically hardened and their heavy scatterguns can unleash a deadly hailstorm of shots. They are often given the task of blasting their way into cramped, urban areas with the ultimate aim of utterly obliterating their enemies. Each Gunner has five damage boxes to their name, can Reposition and have some seriously good guns that should be handy at clearing out pesky dug-in foes.

This set comes with a Wall Barrier, Powder Keg, Fire Pit and Spike Trap. These can be played ahead of your game beginning, meaning that you might be able to scupper the plans of your foe before they get their foot in the door. I think some Powder Kegs placed strategically could be fun to blow up!
