That colour seems to me to be cerulean blue to me.
I just actually took the picture at the top and put into photoshop to get the colour number (Which was #0285b3) and amazingly it IS Cerulean Blue… I’m amazed I actually guessed it right! Yes I was bored….
I hope Army Painter isn’t going to start naming their paint ridiculous things like GW… why can’t they just call them by their actual colour names? They have names already. Use then!

Millennium Blue is my pick & below is my reasoning.
As the army painter blue is a lighter blue & Pantone picked Cerulean as the “Colour of the Year” for the year 2000 (Pantone 15-4020) that why I thought Millennium Blue would be a good name.

The BoW community is about so much more than the often stigmatised boys playing at soldiers. It’s more than a group of like minded people debating and sharing thoughts and ideas. It’s about being included, no matter who, what or where you are. It has been a lifeline to me this passed 6 months whilst recovering from clinical depression. I’ve had the pleasure in meeting @brennon and @dignity at Lock n Load this year and having seen some of my painted figures on the show. I think what we do in our hobby as a distraction from the so-called real world is as dignified and valued as any other leisure persuit. Can’t wait to see the new paints 😉
Hobbying gives me little victories all the time, something you need when you’re on the edge of “just feeling down” and the clinical serious side of depression.
BoW often inspires me, or ‘gives me the excuse’ to keep painting, keep collecting and have an element of the day that is mine. Stopping to watch a weekender etc. doesn’t impose on anyone else in my household or life and makes me feel welcome and able to share something with like-minded friends.
Yes you’re not tackling the bigger problems on your plate, but if you can relax and lose yourself and know you’re creating something you are proud of, it gives you the boost you need at times to keep positive.

Wow where did the time go, sat looking at a cold coffee, remember the less cups and the cooler the better. So that show just went up to 11.
The tanks game at the end excellent.
Leopard 1 and 2’s were made as a standard chassis to build all there other major heavy equipment from worked perfectly. It was designed very much with this multi functional task in mind. That being said what would the outcome been had it been a specific build for their main battle tank.
Also as someone who helped design some of the bigger games in real life. There was always a very specific tension between the West Germans and the Americans. It is a little like our role in GB being described as being by one very senior presidential adviser at the time, an aircraft carrier that does not have the ability to move, and should therefore be ignored as anything past the first 24hrs of any major eastern invasion of the west. West Germany was also very aware that we in the west would be the first to use what was amazingly called tactical nuclear weaponry. Which we intended to use not in east Germany at all but in west Germany’s borders with the hope that such use on effectively our own soil in NATO would reduce the risk of major retaliation which would obviously lead to massive nuclear exchange.
A worrying point for the west Germans was the fact the East was known to have a similar scheme but using larger yield to in effect corridor any spearhead, the second Soviet tactic at the time which is still held in high regard today, now, to be believed among a lot of the “I suppose now Russian belief is that a major nuclear exchange war with the correct orientation can still be and should push come to shove be the way that Russia should fight and will be, not can be but will be won.” The Leopard like most of the NATO alliance main battle tanks of the day would be designed to survive in such for a specific amount of time. The Chieftain was one of the earliest of these tanks and in fact a lot of the main battle tanks that in effect followed it were better than it, but owed much of their design and tech abilities and combat survival to it.
Given the above what was true in all things a third world war, then quite rightly the German west was a little of an unknown element we built a little bit in for.

On ‘Miniature Wargaming: The Movie’: is it just me, or does ‘Miniature Wargaming: The Documentary’ sound like a more fitting name? ‘Miniature Wargaming: The Movie’ sounds more like some cheesy B-movie to me. I was going to comment on how overdramatic the guy with a beard (Chris?) seemed, but Warren mentioning that he’s the owner of a miniature company puts his comment into better context (ie in the trailer it comes off as him wrestling with the dilemma of whether to buy minis or his kids to eat, but it’s actually about him using his passion to help support his family).

That said, there are plenty of modern soldiers wearing blue berets, with plenty of sci-fi worlds that would benefit from this blue, so this is not a strictly Infinity inspired idea and should not clash with any IP issues. As and original backer of the movie I will admit that I had questions and reservations about a second funding cycle. This interview has set my mind at ease and I hope that everyone sees what I saw in the first funding attempt. Back the product and help make this a GREAT movie!
Some Ideas for the paint
Tropical Blue – well the first thing that came to mind when I saw this strong blue with a slight hint of teal was a tropical beach
Troll Blue – It would look awesome as a basecoat for some Hordes Trollbloods and its not full on copyright infringy while still giving a hint for what kind of army it would work
Arcane Blue – It does look like it would fit the darker outline color you typically see on blue spell effects
Magefire Blue – same as above
West Germans are the business – Gepards look like something out of a sci-fi movie.

Thinking I am going to have to support this miniature wargaming movie. I do love interviews with people in the industry but this is a bit different. The individual stories and life experiences associated with miniature gaming are a wonderful humanising element to what some may view as a documentary about geek stuff. Ths can only be a good thing.
I have myself drifted towards short play fun board/tabletop games, so I am enjoying the influx of great games (often via kickstarter) like Gorechosen. Crossovers between games are just magic and I am so happy this is becoming a more common feature.
Warmahordes two player box sets are a godsend to get more people involved in this fun dual system. The ever increasing range of Privateer Press Plastics make fielding Warbeast & Warjack forces more appealing. These box sets are well balanced for getting into the game world.
Nice to have Mr Yates (go Kiwi’s!) come in and update on the latest releases as well as run a demo of TANKS. Was totally rootin’ for Justin’s ‘Ronsons’ to take down John’s ‘Big Cat’. 🙂
I have been looking at what to get to paint my Zombicide: Black Plague miniatures and Army Painter has some great sets for Zombicide so I guess a no brainer there!

the movie about wargaming can be a nice thing. Still not going to back it because it is KS and they don’t accept the method of payment available to me. Sad, but I am not going to get another card just to back up one KS a year or something. :/ Still, keeping my fingers crossed for the final result.

My idea for the Color Name is
“Plava Blue”
This is a multiple Sci-Fi reference that works in many ways.
1: It is the Bosnian,Croatian and Serbian name for Blue
2: It references the 5th Element (a super big sci-fi movie) character Diva Plavalaguna who happens to also be the same shade of blue as the color we are naming.
3: It is also nickname for Milla Jovovich (who is half-Serbian) in reference to the ‘Return to the Blue Lagoon, Mila Jovovich was also Alice in the Resident Evil series another famous sci-fi genre film that fans may get.
4: This is a color name that currently exists in no other range of color.
Hopefully this is a cool enough name for the color, thanks for running such a cool event!

I originally came across it in a Black Library 40k book to describe psychic or force energy being deployed, so could easily be used in place of the force/power/warp blue others have been suggesting. It can also be used to describe lightning or applied to a fantasy setting to describe Mage fire etc.
