I believe the most common build is the Plasma Rifle and Missile Pod (the Fireknife configuration). It’s the most versatile configuration, and then a third hardpoint for i think a Targeting Array.
Targeting Array is a waste of points on the Shas’ui and Shas’vre. Tau is all about maximizing shots. Stick on a Multi-tracker to fire both weapons or bust. But yes, Fire knives are king.
As for you Darrel, I am disappoint.
they r best and the twin linked and targeting area . and yes then need some new models the book is not that old .
The Tau line is pretty old, unless the Catchans came out before them I think they may be the oldest plastics GW make, pretty much everything else has been re-cut or done again better.
They’re not the only plastics with few options, or even the ones with the fewest, but we’re talking about a whole range here not just the Imperial Guard troops or space marine bikes.
Actually, the majority of the marine range is old stuff just with a few more accessories, but the Khorne Berzerkers and Eldar Guardians boxes are older, as are the Catachans amongst other assorted boxed sets.
Compared to the forgeworld models, these look a little toy like. Still fun to play with, just gotta keep them out of combat. Fireknife is my fav, I play against orks a lot so the high ap is good for killing the hardboys that the hammerhead rail gun didn’t get… Or even stopping a speeding truck…
“All very russian to me anyway… ‘s all very acrylic, almost looking”… I think you mean cyrillic, and I disagree, but never mind that…
It’s a lovely video, but you kind of built the guy looking like he needs to pee… Though it’s true those old suits look bulky and crappy compared to the Forgeworld ones.
Not to mention “Ernest” has 4 systems. Max 3…
LOL Darrel, Lay of the sauce before night time.
NONSENSE!
MORE SAUCE FOR DARREL! ASAP!
I prefer the Death Rain varient
Oh and its the head, Warren, not the target lock! xD
Hang on, Darrel called the Chaos lord he built along side this Bert… wonder what was on TV at the time..
yeah, the targeting array helps out your BS (up to 5), but if you’ve got a lot of markerlights on the field, i don’t think you have to worry too much about it.
the shield drone does require one little metal bit, but i don’t think anyone would know the difference.
this video is a step on the way toward the greater good.
“the greater good”
“the greater good”… crusty jugglers…
well if those guys like track n’ field , who are the rugby fans of 40k?
Its gotta be the Orks, they don’t mind getting muddy.
I would also say that Football is probably an IG sport, if someone goes near then they fall over and cry like girls.
I love Darell, but he seemed a bit lost in this vid. Hehe.
His opinion on the transfer sheet was funny, and didn’t know the pieces of the frame very well.
I love how he glued the suit together, being all knocked-kneed.
True, the crisis suit doesn’t come with many pieces but the Tau don’t decorate their suits junk. The Kroot do, with severed heads and limbs, but not the Tau.
Hmmm still lovin Tau models.
Completly off-topic, but when you guys post Game Scape Part 4? Thumbs up if you agree.
P.S. We all want to know what kind of model trees you used.
Darrell you have fast become the main reason I visit this site, keep em coming I love every minute.
Tau Battlesuits look like it was designed by lego.
OMG, I have never seen it that way but now I can’t get it out of my head. I need to mass order some lego bricks and build a manta ray for my tau “lego fish people”
Btw, I think he called him Ernest because “Ernest, Scared Stupid” has been playing on tv non stop for about a month now
Its amazing how little Darrel knows about Tau… Tau love golf not Track and Field!
I have a Team of three XV8 all with Twin-linked Flamers(They’re cheap!) and the Shas’ Vre has the selfdestruction thingy
They obviously are great against Hordes but i also use them to lure infantry away from objectives or into the fireing line of my Firewarriors
I’ve only just watched this, but jesus, this was totally amateurish. If you’re going to do a video at least do a bit of research beforehand of what you’re actually unboxing.
What the hell is a VX Battlesuit? Not knowing the weapons? and only using one weapon? Why?
If you’re going to review and unbox something, for those out there who might consider buying it, at least have a bit of professionalism and do some research, not just repeat “erm, don’t know what that is…”
