Those legs don’t really fit the kit. But Slaanesh isn’t my cup of tea if I must choose between the chaos gods it would be Nurgle or Khorne
I find that the model is to bulky as you said. The hands seem real big for the arms. It is an old model now as all the greater daemons are. Is it just me, or do you all find that GW’s metal minis seem rather… chuncky and poor in quality. That is with the big based models. Stuff like eldar and elves look great but man the Oger Kingdom metal models look odd.
I’ve never liked any of the slaanesh models from GW… Slaanesh is supposed to be the god of pleasure and pain, the tempter, the seductor/tress…
Slaanesh is the only demon prince that has an army that doesn’t live up to his name and portfolio, and basically looks almost nothing like it should.
So far, there has been ONE (count it) ONE model that was sculpted to be entirely sexy and not horribly mutated in some way. That’s Sigwald The Magnificent, for the chaos warriors in Fantasy.
Even the daemonettes are ghastly, what with the crustacean parts, the tentacles and horns, or the absence of nose… It’s borderline nauseating IMHO. The Mask, daemonette hero apparently, is NOT sexy. She has the build of a bad transvestite mexican wrestler (not to insult transvestites in any way, as I happen to know a few).
The beasts of slaanesh are just clumsy lumps of flesh with extra saggy breasts… And I’m not even going to comment on the weird ostrich-aardvark mix that they use as mounts.
This demon model is consistent with that tendency. It’s not tempting, it’s not perverted, there’s no pleasure or pain here, it’s just gross… And badly proportioned, at that.
If the models were beautiful, I wouldn’t mind them to be overpriced (as they are)… Sadly, it’s not the case.
By the way, great video, John !
Im with you john, the deamon prince is fugly, possible one of the worst models in the Gw range (apart from chaos dread)
but i dont agree with elromanzoo cous i like the deamonettes and the Masque, they look pretty perverted to me, but i do se your point with the slaneesh troops not living up to its rep, however if i where to buy a Greater Deamon i would totally go for the forgeworld one. That is a true keeper of secrets, not the kind of squid/manbearpig/sasquatch thing that Gw produce…
I’d have to agree with Elromanozo, Slaanesh models are suppose to be attractive as explained in the rulebook and the codex. He was suppose to be the only fair looking one of the gods, I would assume that his army would follow that trend, since every other chaos faction seems to follow suit with their leaders.
hmmm needs tits more seductive looking as well as horrorfying plus arn’t they ment to be hermaphrodites.
I find that my biggest problem is actually the paintscheme, the overly musculature abdomen/chest, maybe the lack of androgynicity/hemphrodisiac qualities and, mostly, the length of the sword. I like the sword, but it needs to be longer to work properly 😀
In my opinion the Forge World greater daemons are a lot better and lol @ elromanozo`s comment
hmmm . . .
that goat head makes the rotting belly of a plague bearer look beautiful
ps. i must admit other than the two hands, with the other head i quite like this kit (but id never pay £35 or whatever it is for it!!)
pps. John said that their tentacles – i reckon they’re horns
From the rooftops was heard bellowed : plas-tic !
