I wonder why they still haven’t mentioned the critical hit.. well, maybe it’s next on the list
All these videos could have been done in a single situation, but that would have been far too complex.
First we worry about moving, hitting stuff and not doing a dirt nap.
Another awesome video posted to LGS page
Wooo! More Infinity goodness!
these tutorials are excellent!!! 🙂
Very clear tutorials. It’s the perfect time cause I’m in since few weeks et me and my mate really appreciate these very detailed videos.
Games with destructible cover would be interesting.
Especially if you use explosive barrels and such. 😛
There are some existing rules regarding destructible terrain, although naturally you need to designate what can be affected first before the dice starts rolling.
You really mean explosive barrels, not ammunition? So, your gun goes boom! in your hands and, if you survive, can’t use it anymore – except maybe after a successful fix by an engeneer?
Ooooh, on second sight – you mean cargo containers like casks, tanks, bins… Funny how the mind works: For me that kind of barrel is the classic wooden one so has no place in this setting at all. Also, I instantly thought of the EXP ammo. ^^
u happen to play shadowrun ?
Nice ot Know I’ve been pronoucing Yu-jing completely wrong all year.
Yeah, this really is a step up from the older videos.
Another nice video.
Great stuff – a little more stuff with stats passing 20 and how mods and crits are affected would be great.
Interesting system, I like it
For some reason ‘top notch’ seems like an understatement 🙂
Nice to see simple, concise explanations of the rules. The Red Veil miniatures look sweet!
Great content like this is why I am glad to be a backstager. Awesome work!
The new videos for beginners are fantastic
Again these videos are great for people like me who have never played the game.
Loving the new videos!
blood splatter was very cool .
nice clear professional job gentlemen .
Important part of the mechanics that brings more critical analysis to each decision, but this is where sometimes the sheer number of modifiers – especially those based upon specialist rules on individual models (e.g. range, cover, camo levels, visor levels etc.) – can get complicated to keep track of.
I think these new videos will really help expand the player-base for Infinity. The older ones were okay, but these are superb.
One more video on AROs and they’ve pretty much nailed the basics of the game!
I had so much fun learning the intro rules with Operation Icestorm – even the basics had me thinking that Infinity made every other game look rubbish in comparison.
These videos are great for new players, but i rellay want to see something different than tutorials.
Good stuff
Can’t wait for the hacker video.
always good to see the videos being made, so people have two ways to learn the rules. Most importantly to test the waters for a new player, since people can be against reading something just to see if they like it.
loving this set
Okay, nice and important one. Also, better to not do too many different animations and graphics, which they in fact straightened out in this clip. Quite a bit anyway.
Yet, again, dropping relevant game elements / terms without making clear what they are right from the start. Silhouette – it is easily explained, even more so with graphics at your aid, but very crucial to understand. The graphics shown when it is mentioned here might suggest, that the actual miniature’s outline is meant. Which it is not at all.
liking these how to videos
Awesome special effects.
Oh no! Math!! Or if you like Maths
Very cool, again. I just LOVE the closeups of the miniatures! They show off not only Angel Giraldez superhuman painting skills, but also the stunning quality and detail of Corvus Belli’s Infinity range.
Plus, the Terrain is ace! I might have to get myself a table full of that Plastcraft prepainted stuff.
Am I getting this right? 1 good ARO roll could potentially cancel more that one attack?
Yes, that’s correct.
Example.
You are on reactive turn. You are rolling for and ARO of 9 or less in your D20. Your D20 rolls and it is a 6.
I’m on my active turn, my whole burst is rolling for a 14 or less and I finally got a 20, a 1 and a 2.
Then, the only succesfull shot would be your 6. and I would have to make one ARMor roll.
Thanks @bostria
You the man.
They’re missing luck. Luck is the worst (or best!) modifier lol
The more I see, the more I like.
The production quality of these instructional vids is pretty stellar.
Can’t wait to gey my hands on this set.
Now this is at the pace I can follow easily, moving through the complexities of playing a game along with excellent animations and clear descriptions.
Corvus Belli makes one of the best video tutorials, easy to follow and nice visuele/sound effects.
Poor Gulham…
I hope CB creates a playlist of these for new players. So helpful.
What about crits?!
I love this wound effect. 🙂
Great videos as always.
Pew pew combi-rifle
ohh those are new 😉
Please Please keep these coming. great tutorials for helping othres get into the game! great production values, great models, great game! keep it up!
I love this week 😀
What I have found interesting is how the rule system is much like that used in the rpg Fading Suns (which dates back to 1996 with the system called the Victory Point System).
And with this, every one knows the bassics 🙂
Great video. Hollywood level! ^^ This video really shows how important these concepts are. And once again, YJ wins. All good.
Whoever you is writing these tutorial-videos is doing a fine job! I wish you would do them for some more games, they are easy to understand and help to learn a bit about the game. And that without having to read the rules first.
Glory to Yu Jing! we have won almost every face to face roll so far XD
It’s a real solid improvement from the old introductury videos. I’d like to see even more of them explaining various rules issues.
You definitely improved on your original tutorials, good Job.
Comment for prizes
loving these tutorials! All my friends who are not infinity players will not know what hit them!
Give me more.
You can tell Carlos was involved in writing the scenarios for these videos.
Lovely new starter set – and very useful vids! Keep up the good work guys.
Great vid. I hope you upload it again without the prize bit at the start so people are not bothered by it in the future as it is a great resource
great tutorials! how many will there be?
Nomads were my first army, Yu Jing my second. My 3rd army was going to be Combined army, my 4th Haqquisam. Now it has reversed and lovin it. 🙂
….Very clear and well done…
I think my profile picture fits my reaction to these vids! Really well done!
They kinda forgotten about the range mod in the last shoot out but that was not what they were teaching so I can give it a pass. Still every easy to digest it all.
love the set
Seems pretty clear when explained this way.
I’m not a huge fan of reversed dice rolls. Keep it to rolling either below or above target – don’t switch around in the middle of an action.
never played infinity so finding these videos really good for giving a flavour of how the rules work
Yet another good tutorial! Thanks!
Another great video. Keep it coming.
Some good notes to take in this particular video for new players.
Its great the way this showcases the tactical depth of infinity in such a simple way. Closing in on enemy troops isn’t always the best solution, and holding your ground (or even withdrawing) might be the best option due to the impact on weapon range.
Resolution of the attack rolls was something that I found I bit confusing when I first started playing. This really helps explain it.
Oh yeah, ‘top notch’… love it! 🙂
These videos are a great way to show how Infinity really shines as a wargame, and in my opinion, how it stands out from a lot of others.
I do love the little animations these videos have over the photos. Great work!
They really have put some great professional effort into all facets of this – well done!
Videos like this makes the rules seem so simple and straight forward. I hope it will be a long series that explains some of the more complicated stuff (outside of the new starter box), specially things that come up a lot in games and that can be a bit confusing (At start). Great job!
Wow the vids are good!
And such nice effects!
They are perfect to visualize the mechanics!
The basics are being fed really slowly in each video, but I think that even if it takes 30 minutes of 5 min videos to get a good understanding, this is still preferable to relying on reading the rules alone. People love watching youtube videos and this is a great resource to share the rules of this awesome game.
Cool set
I actually really like that they don’t get cover if they’re not in base contact with the terrain, whilst it’s not exactly intuitive, it is really really clear, and would cause far fewer arguments during a game.
Great vid
Another great video! Really like the mechanics of the rolls.
I will definetly watch the rest of the week and probably pre-order the awesome Red Veil box!
Again well explained
Another nice understandable video. And the red veil miniatures look awesome.
I’m definitely going to have to paint my operation icestorm now
Everyone tells me I should be playing Infinity so if I win I promise to paint it up and share it with a friend.
Well done
I now need to invest in awesome looking D20’s
Very well put together tutorial.
Whilst it doesn’t directly aid the tutorial nature of the videos, I do love the little effects such as the blood splatters. I think it helps add interest to the videos if nothing else, and interested viewers tend to learn better after all 😉
Like the system
Great videos much easier.
What i’ve learned so far: Put with as little enemy BS as possible.
Enjoying these.
A definite improvement in tutorial videos
There is a lot to keep track of in these rules and seems like it can get a bit complex but these tutorials certainly help to simplify it. Great stuff, keap it coming.
winning?
Good replacement for N2 stuff they used to have.
Nice video!
Very nice videos, really easy to go through and understand the game. Could well be the new standard in my view for when a new game is launched.
Cheers,
Would love to see a hacker video guide.
These videos will definitely help anyone getting into Infinity
Love these how-to videos
Nice clear easy to follow vid
Nice to see an update of the old videos..
Great tutorial
Incredible and nice videos that shows how to play the game, it’s wonderfull have this kind of supportif you are starting
Good and clear video
Liking these new videos a lot. I hope there are a lot more to come.
love this been trying to sit down and read the rule but keep getting distrtacted
I`m loving these mini video`s, all i can think of is……………….glad these mini video`s have been done, or it would take me a bit longer to get it right.
love videos that explain the rule they are easier to mentally digest then the rule book
I like that cover is given only when the model’s base is touching the cover. That helps resolve some line-of-sight issues with cover, right?
Another great video. Thanks CB and BoW.
Another excellent video. Keep it up.
Learn to play videos are always good!
Nice to have these in a new edition with updated details.
Again, awesome tutorials…looking forward to the Killian Vs Carlos re-re-re-re-re-re….re-match. !
Loving these video
Great series of videos for introducing the game’s basic concepts and amazing production values!
No love for the Ghulams apparently 🙂 Great video and well explained. However, I’d like to have seen the Hsien at 24″ firing at at the Ghulam in cover. Just to show how modifiers can stack and recreating a more “complex” situation.
Very nice video, concise and to the point. Love the Yu Jing dice
Tom Schadle brought me here.
Did you forget to tell the maximum sum of all modifiers or it was done on purpose?
I like way they use anime to help explain the modifiers with real dice rolling. Simple & sweet, keep these tutorials coming.
I said it before and i will probably say it many times again, your tutorial videos rock. 🙂
Thanks for these series its the best explanation of infinity Ive seen and I cant wait to get into it. I really want that prize operation icestorm.
A much needed and excellent tutorial videos. Hearing Tom’s voice was a spin out 🙂
Definitely a good intro, hopefully they keep going to explore more of the game.
This is where Infinity simply has an edge on all other war games: the face-to-face roll mechanic paired with the modifier system, creates a very intuitive system, that nonetheless allows for fantastic tactical depth.
For everyone still on the fence: if the miniatures alone didn’t do if for you, this mechanic will. You’ll never look back.
Nice vid, whose voice is that?
Very good and informative video. I will really look into infinity, seems like a great game
These really are great little vids for infrequent players!
Super excited for this
Loving this set!
I will absolutely link those videos to anyone how wants to learn the basics of Infinity 😀
I’m starting to think Justin only has one tshirt. But what a shirt!
Honestly I feel that that Infinity uses Dice is the best in the business
These videos are so well produced, with the graphics making eery thing so clear
I have played the game only once, but leaving your units out of cover could be very bad! 🙂
It is so nice watching the infinity community growing more and more, slowly sawing on the legs of the gw empires golden throne
Another informative video. It has been a while since I played this game and these videos are good reminders of the basics.
These will really help any new players, great job!
Why don’t all minis games do videos like this? These vids are fantastic.
It’s hard to believe how much improvement CB sculpts have made over the last several years… go Yu Jing!
I think CB hired the right people to help them produce these videos. They are clear and concise, very little chance of misunderstanding anything from any of the videos so far. Sure they are just going through the basics but isn’t that what these are all about, helping EVERYONE understand the basic mechanics and principals of the game so that everyone can play and enjoy?!
The new tutorial videos are great!
I’m glad they finally updated the intro videos
I like that the videos are not longer than 5 minutes. It helps to focus on them
easy to understand and simple for new players, very good work
some great tactical advice alongside clear rules makes this extremely tempting!
always good video! Nice wok guys!!
More Red Veil information!
Another great video, but I’m surprised they haven’t mentioned Critical Hits yet, as they ignore armor.
nice tutorial. Well done.
Nice video. But if a HMG does 4 shots why are their only 3 dice per faction?
These videos are broken up nicely for teaching the game.
Really like these videos.
exciting stuff yet again 🙂
real good. modifier stacking can be tough for new people
I think Yu Jing should be pronounced differently at every opportunity. Keep the community guessing.
drool
Always good to have sexy videos to use to entice friends into this game.
Informative as always
I think it would be nice if every modifier was not +/- 3. I like the D20 but with +/-3, it could be used with a D6 (or D8)
I enjoy that these are quick and to the point for new players.
Another great tutorial video. Keep em coming!
Another really great tutorial video, which really conveys a key part of the game and WHY its important. Am looking forward to the ones yet to come, as they move into some of the more complex rules and skills!
Great videos to show beginners, kudos to CB and Schadles.
As someone who learns best by doing and watching these 3 videos are an absolute joy! They make it quick, simple and easy to understand how infinity is played at the most basic level. Absolutely brilliant! Great work CB!
Yeah, this is going to be an annual thing now. Falling in love with Infinity every year.
Nice tuts.
Need more advanced tutorials.
I love the models especially those Yu Jing
I always forget the bonus to armour partial cover gives. Love these videos. They’re very clear.
Awesome minis
I love the opposed roles mechanic
Cool dice!
Infinity is great, but the learning curve is steep – probably the only game where playing with the “beginner rules” the first few times is actually a good idea ever for experienced gamers. The payout is definitely worth it, however.
This set is so good.
Very informative – all makes sense to me :p
Nice!
This is great stuff for beginners!
Very nice!
So bring enough dakka to cover all ranges, got it.
Would have liked to see mention of other modifiers like camo and ODD.
great breakdown of the rules thanks
Love these updated videos. Long overdue, and very much appreciated.
Loving these new videos – as others have said, nice to hear Schadle doing the VO work given his place in the community
Excellent tutorial!
Great video
Want YJ.
These are really good updates on the video tutorials. They should help me introduce the game to new players.
BoW is very good in introductions 🙂 So are the Infinity starter rulebooks, more companies should produce stuff like them
Best way to explain the modifiers.
More tutorials are always a good idea.
I love the sound of rolling dice!
loads more of these please
As someone who has never seen anything on infinity gameplay I must say these videos are great, really simple and clear, I’m liking these Corvus Belli more and more each time I see their stuff
Infinity really has some of the best game mechanics out there. It’s just the learning curve for all the modifiers is pretty steep.
Those minis look awesome
With this and the original starter set I could have 4 very nice starter armies. This game is out of this world right now.
another clear video
loving these little rule videos
I like the modifiers!
nice video
Infinity is a great game. Looking forward to more coverage
These modifiers are cool!
I always enjoy gameplay tutorial vids, but please bring back the awesome terrain vids!
Nice video, easy to learn rules.
This series of videos has given me a good grasp of the core mechanics of the game. Tempted to give them a try now.
I’ll get my friends watch this before getting into games
Definitely need a hacking version of this
awesome work lads
Interesting show!
I’ve never understood why you cant benefit from cover when the enemy can only see 10% of you but you are 2mm away from the cover thats blocking his view.
Simple straight forward tutorials, keep ’em coming!
Love the look of this set.
Awesome-sauce!
Good length of video to really focus on a key aspect
Clear and informative, just what a rules video needs to be.
Good reminder, i’ve only played a few games so its good to get a refresher.
Love how clear these videos are to follow
Nice tutorial
Always count your modifiers: Sometimes, no matter how badly you want to kill their guy, dodging is the better option.
Great Video!
Another great video
Effective mechanics
Lovely show!
Hope still leaveon time to a comment.
