Dice rolls and how they both hit and miss will be discussed and you'll have to become familiar with AROs as they are one of the most exciting mechanics in Infinity that set it apart from other games.

Great set of videos for new players.
1st. 😀 now I can die in peace. but congrats on the video 🙂
I wish I could have seen your face after you posted this!
meeeep.. wrong! second, i’m afraid.
Now there’s a familiar sounding voice!
as always – great videos for new players
I really liked how the manual in Icestorm worked through the basics. Good to see they kept that with the new one and combined with these videos it is a really great introduction to everything.
Not the bootcamp but still good stuff
Quality noob fodder. These fundamentals are key to getting the game and are what underpins its popularity, I think.
The Aro is one of my favorite thing you can do in Infinity
Really good how to play series so far. I do not currently play infinity but it is giving a good understanding of basic mechanics so I can make a better decision on if I would enjoy it.
Like the vidoe but i would rather see you guys playing then these tutorial videos.
Hmmm…
Someone has been cheating. Using full burst as reactive fire.
Generally true, but some units can legally use full burst in ARO, examples including the commonly available Total Reaction REMs, and units with Neurocinetics.
Love those Sin Eater Observants!
Suppressive Fire order puts you into Suppressive Fire state, which allows you to ARO using the “SF Mode” weapon profile, which is Burst 3 in ARO, AND your opponent is at -3 to their rolls. Only downside is the short range (24″, and a -3 MOD from 16-24″).
That’s a really good explanation of how the dice rolls work in Infinity. And on top of that, these videos glorify the almighthiness of the State-Empire!!!
These sick animation!
Quality tutorials, keep ’em coming!
Not bad to re-learn the basics
Very helpful!
These tutorials are very well made.
Much better than reading the book. Can you do a video for every special rule and every possible situation? 😀
Or just take us all over to Spain for one to one tuition 😀
awesome sound effects
Sweet with more infinity.. Keep ’em coming!
Looking forward to a video for fireteams. and perhaps some of the other human sphere stuff! (pretty please?)
Loving this introductory videos
Wow. I love the look of the new starter set
The ability of the dice gods to screw over your dice probability calculations and odds to create the occasional epic moment is one reason this game is so much fun. Many a game has been won or lost on that final face-to-face roll off…
A very effective mechanics, everything’s possible with that.
New starter is best.
And then… after all calculations… double critical! XD
Another brilliant video for getting into the game and clearly explaining everything which is awesome.
They are getting better at these how to play videos all the time.
Really feels like Icestorm but stepped up to another level, its a great touch
FtF mechanic is pretty good untill you meet critical roll 😉 but seriously Infinity is well balanced in my oppinion and provides awesome range of models.
Another well done video.
Love these videos. They really show how to play the game. Keep them coming!
Loving these bite sized vids.
Face to face rolls and AROs are what really set Infinity apart from the other games out there.
Is the rule book as handy as these videos are?
No, they’re not.
But, that’s simply because these videos are absolutely spot on perfect and are narrated by Tom Schadle, who has hundreds of podcasting hours under his belt on Mayacast.
The intro rules (the ones in Red Veil and Icestorm) are nice and lead you through things in a manner similar to these videos, but the main rules, whilst being really well laid out and presented can feel more like bog-snorkelling compared with the roller-skating of the intro rules!
Thanks for the info!
I wonder how much video content there would be if Corvus Belli made a video fear every game effect they have! I would watch every single one though.
I want to be face to face with these models…no roll necessary!
Lots to keep track of, but solid mechanic. Also like that there is always a possibility to soak. Nice.
these videos are excellent, well done guys
“Most of you time in this game will be spent shooting at the enemy” – Good to hear.
Nice explanation of a key mechanic!
They are getting better at making these tutorials.
But I’d love to see advanced ones too.
Great stuff
Definitely sending this video and the others to all the new players in our group. Thank you!
Meet Haqqim, the Haqqislamite field training stuntagent. ^^ Wow – that came right out of nowhere. Now, is he the new counterpart to Fusilier Angus?
I’d love that.
Sweet. Look forward to more videos.
Another great video tutorial. Corvus Belli is really stepping up their game with these high quality videos. I especially like the recoil on the shots. Nice touch.
Like!!
Keep them coming, guys.
yeah great for beginners and memory jogger.
liking these how to videos
Great videos these..
Next time, I will show the videos to interessted players, instead of talking them away 😉
Very cool intro video once more! Very professional!
Clear and concise. Swish.
I’m using these to teach anybody. Better than me dipping it
These videos are good for newbies
Excellent tutorial again: Might’ve been nice to explain how a burst-3 can be cancelled by one ARO hit: Hit value for both are say, 11’s, attacker rolls 4, 5, 5 and reactive rolls 7 thus cancelling all hits.
The face to face mechanic is what sold this game for me.
Love these mechanics and love the models.
The scene with the Zanshi aiming at the training target has something hilarious
CB should use those instead of the old school ones at their website for new players. Great job.
You know what would go great with these amazing videos to get me going in Infinity… A shiny new starter!
wow this videos are very well edited !
Pew pew combi-rifle
Learning to play is much easier this way
great set of videos 🙂
Another great video explaining the basic concepts of the rules. Really good.
These videos really help me explain to my friends how Infinity works … or they just help me beeing lazy … i guess it’s both. But they are getting more and more interestend in the Game … so hopefully soon i’ll have some more players around here.
Great videos for newbies, are they going to redo the background videos as well?
I’m a little disappointed at Haqq’s performance in these videos
I like this shooting system.
Really nice videos to explain the game. I particularly like all the small animations.
Nice and clear
….Adding the armor to your roll is less confusing than taking it off from the Damage and then rolling….Cool
Boar wants moar!
The animations on these tutorials is great, the production value of everything to do with infinity is so high.
Videos like these are really helpful as sometimes you just need clarification that you’ve got the rules down right.
Very slickly done, perfect for new players!
Been playing for a while now but this is still really useful and helps to clear up some of the more ambiguous FtF situations…
Great video again
interesting mechanics
Great explanation of the rules.
Good instructional vid.
How do we help eliminate having so many tokens on the table?
Nice. Simple, straight-forward way of explaining mechanics. Can’t wait to see the one for hacking.
Really like these bite size videos and use them as a great refresher for my 10 year old son, because it sometimes can be a month or so between games.
Having only played games with D6s before, the amount of variation in numbers with D20s is very interesting to me, would anyone who has experienced both like to share which they prefer and why? I’m curious. 🙂
Love those videos.
I like it that you make more detailed vids about the game machanics then on the Operation Icestorm week. Keep going!
Neat explanation there
Hmm, I have a housemate who’s taken a liking to the Haqqislam RPG miniature. Maybe I could use these videos to help bring her over to Infinity proper… 😉
Thanks again, great video for possible players.
That Red Veil box is getting very tempting!
Great video.
Nice explained.
That explained that nicely for noob like me
If I ship in boxes of Anzac biscuits to the studio will I somehow as if bu magic win? This is not a bribe. Only a hypothetical question.
Everyone tells me I should be playing Infinity so if I win I promise to paint it up and share it with a friend.
Those are really useful… Oh who am I kidding? I’m commenting for the prizes 😀
Thanks for the tutorial.
Great video guys, keep up the excellent work.
The hype for red veil
Really good intro videos. On to intro video no. 3 for me.
So much easier than reading! Cheers.
Another effective and simple to follow tutorial, I can easily get the hang of this game in these “bite”size bits of info.
Nice videa, thanks.
Great mechanic. Often provides dramatic events, and those ” I don’t believe it!” moments. 🙂
The tutorials are fantastic
Great video
I’m just dying to get a chance to try this game out.
Nice to see an update of the old videos..
Somenthing that happens or occurs allways in the game! Nice video!!! It’s a pleasure learning this game
Good teaching tool
Another nice little informative video, think i`ll have to watch this video a few time`s. After i have , i`ll get some of the figures i have and have some practice rounds. See if i can get it right with out having to keep referring to the video………………………….
hmm sound simple, it sounds easy to get into
So the armor rolls are the odd one out, as it’s a “roll higher than” instead of “roll less than or equal”.
Clear and concise video. Great to learn the basics of the game.
Loving the new videos more and more. I think these videos will become a great resource for new players in the future.
At first I didnt embrace the dice swing, but now I love the ridiculousness
Good to see the old basics renewed, I used to link these to new players.
Very informative. Easy to understand and follow.
Awesome use of the new minis and graphics. Very handy for newbies!
I love the models, but these videos are up there in terms of luring me to Infinity.
Very helpful video, please continue..
Again a really helpful video. Hope more coming
Tom Schadle brought me here.
I like this videos, they help to refresh the rules
I like way the stats & orders are explained, simple & sweet. The anime bits are sweet.
Great for new players!
Thanks for these series its the best explanation of infinity Ive seen and I cant wait to get into it. I really want that prize operation icestorm.
A much needed and excellent tutorial videos. Hearing Tom’s voice was a spin out – See more at: http://www.beastsofwar.com/infinity/red-veil-week-dice-modifiers/comment-page-6/#comment-286646
As always great job guys.
The face to face roll mechanic is one of the best mechenics for tabletops I have seen to date.
Good for beginners. Nice graphics.
Love the ftf system, keeps things exciting 😀
Said in the first video, will say it again, great production value, kudos to the authors!
I was a bit concerned about d20 for rolls as other games I have tried haven’t worked for me. But this looks very elegant.
My big problem with Infinity is that I can not decide which faction should I choose! 😀
Think I’ll need to rewatch all these videos to get back up to speed with the game.
It really works nice, in the beginning it takes some time to understand the mechanics, but it is a quite cinematic approche.
Let’s hope that the new Haqq dice roll better than my old PanO ones 😀
Nice video, very easy to understand.
These are great tutorials, thanks!
Handy!
It’s hard to believe how much improvement CB sculpts have made over the last several years… go Yu Jing!
I am really liking the quality of these videos.
Justin, I am diggin’ the shirt you are wearing in the intro as well man.
Another great video for new players.
Me & my boys are raring for this instead of tanks, videos are great!
at always, great tutorial for new player!!
So many memories from rolling that last-moment face-to-face roll at the end of the game!
Impressive “how to play” videos, I’m really enjoying them.
I really like this system. They keep adding new troops & ideas without falling prey to the army of the month syndrome like another game co.
Nice video. More advanced rules would be better. Fire teams would intrest me.
Good job with those videos. Keep it up!
These videos are great.
love the face to face roll mechanic
nice. always good to brush up on the basics even for experienced players
Good video! Keep em coming!
Incoming red mist!
Another great video explaining the basic mechanics – excellent work.
I would recommend showing more possible events on the face to face roll. I have had to explain it to a few people and I find that: “this is rolled, this happens” is great, but they understand more if you continue by saying “and if this was rolled, this happens” a few times.
Definitely saving these for teaching new players.
The production values on these videos is really great… its not a Hollywood blockbuster or something by Hans Rosling, but there are effects to keep things interesting and graphics that convey things wonderfully clearly, which is definitely a good thing for getting new players into the game.
Infinity is awesome! The face to face mechanic is a brilliant way to keep both players on their toes.
As someone who learns best by doing and watching these 3 videos are an absolute joy! They make it quick, simple and easy to understand how infinity is played at the most basic level. Absolutely brilliant! Great work CB!
Really impressed with this video. Narrator and production quality, not to mention explanation, makes it real easy to understand.
Guess it would though as it’s tailored to the new players (like me).
All the dynamic poses in Infinity are nice, but I really appreciate models who are aiming down sights.
Thank you! Much more clear now!
Another good video keep them coming.
That’s Tom Schadle’s voice
Interesting rule changes
Simple yet effective
Good look at one of the elegant mechanics peculiar to Infinity!
Easy to learn, difficult to master, prettiest models. Unf.
Keep up the good work, lads.
Interesting mechanics.
Nice!
Great video!
DAKKA DAKKA!
F2F is really one of the defining features of Infinity.
True that, and especially useful in a skirmish-level game.
These are great to replace the old 1st edition tutorials.
great breakdown of the rules thanks
Great videos. Very nice to see these instructions in Infinity fundamentals updated.
Thanks for the videos guys
Very nicely like. Liked the animation with the target
Excellent new videos – clearer than reading the book 🙂
I love to roll face to face!
Want YJ
Loving the new updated tutorials.
Good explained… as in every Infinity tutorial
F2F rolls make the game more fun… because there is almost always at least a slim chance, that the underdog prevails.
I hope to see more action!
Video on Hacking please
Another good one, I do find these videos really help with understanding the mechanics which seem more difficult to understand on paper.
If only they did these videos for every special rule in the game :).
I really need to start playing this game
These new videos are awesome. I have a perfect newbie to introduce to the game with these.
good toturial
These videos are really good, I was worried watching the battle report and seeing the infinity guys keep lining at the rules (having gw horrors of needing 9 different codexs) but this seems pretty straight forward
good for new players
Another good vid. Well done. Thanks.
Infinity is a great game. Looking forward to more coverage
Thanks for the video!
F2F is cool!
It’s refreshing to have rules representing actual fire fights
Another great video, clear instructions.
Again, very clear on the mechanics! More intuitive than many other games out there.
It’s a good way to teach the basics
Excellent tutorial
excellent explanations!
Cool show!
Very helpful
This looks awesome and the game rules look tight! I really should get into this game.
Infinity is cool!
Clear and informative, just what a rules video needs to be.
Good reminder, i’ve only played a few games so its good to get a refresher.
Love these game mechanics
Nice tutorial
One thing I do appreciate about a d20: Clean calculations of odds!
A great follow up to the previous tutorial
Well explained!
I love these videos!
Nice game!
Hope still leaveon time to a comment.
It’s always great to see the basics explained concisely for the benefit of new players.
