There are many different locations you can develop across the different games belonging to CATAN. Whether you want to head out to space in CATAN Starfarers, settle on the coast of Peru in CATAN Rise of the Inkas, or simply stop off in Westeros for A Game of Thrones CATAN.

CATAN Studios have announced their newest venture, focussing on the prehistoric era within human history; titled CATAN: Dawn of Humankind.

CATAN - Dawn of Humankind | TEASER // CATAN

If prequels are up your street, CATAN Studios will be taking themes of 2002 classic, The Settlers of Stone Age in a new idea for modern-day players. Brining a real-world title not set in the fictional world of CATAN. Starting off in ancient Africa, players will be guarding and guiding their own prehistorical families through a venture of evolution. Across Africa and onto other areas of the globe.

Although we have seen the little teaser trailer that showcases the upcoming title, there is not much released about the title officially as of yet. Simply a sneak peek at what the box is going to look like, and the simple premise of the title: we are returning to where the history of humanity first began.

The title is set to be released this year, so if you are keen to explore humanity's roots in a world that is just beginning. With familiar CATAN themes of hexagonal spaces - be sure to keep your eyes open for the upcoming title  CATAN: Dawn of Humankind.

Did you play The Settlers of Stone Age? I wonder whether we will be seeing many common themes between the two, or just little features taken from the old title.
