Days Of Wonder have now announced more details surrounding their Ticket To Ride Legacy-style board game. The core of Ticket To Ride is there but beyond that, you'll have a fun campaign to dive into as you explore Legends Of The West.

Designed by Rob Daviau, Matt Leacock and the original creator, Alan R. Moon, Legends Of The West takes place over twelve games that form a legacy campaign. Over the course of these games, you'll help change and update your game board which will be turned into your own unique copy for use in normal games of Ticket To Ride. Much like with Pandemic Legacy and RISK Legacy, you've got loads of options for turning this into your own Ticket To Ride experience.

Much like with Ticket To Ride, you will still be completing tickets but as you go through the game, you'll unlock new mechanics that take you in unexpected directions. As the story continues, you'll open Frontier Boxes which give you new rules, content, surprises and such. As you can see from the image above, you start off small but slowly but surely build up your map!

I think this sounds like an excellent idea and I am eager to see how the game expands throughout the play experience. The core Ticket To Ride experience is still very satisfying even for a seasoned hobby gamer so having the option to turn it into a sprawling legacy experience is great.
