Gerry and Leo discuss how they came to be the eighth faction for Conquest and the world of Ea, the two-tiered army of tribes and the way that the Sorcerer Kings themselves interact with them. They also dive into how the Sorcerer Kings allowed them to explore the elemental powers at play in Ea and the way they interact with humanity.

The Sorcerer Kings are such a wonderful and unique faction. You don’t often see to much influence from India in the Tabletop Wargames space and only a marginal bit more of Arabic or Mongolian design influence. I am really glad to see a fantasy army pulling from those cultural design-space. I look forward to seeing the Earth and Water elements added to the Sorcerer Kings and to see the arrival of the Tribes in the future! I genuinely enjoy being able to see behind-the-scenes of game, model, and faction design. Leo provided some great insights into the design process for… Read more »
Agreed. The non-traditional army designs are a huge reason I became interested in the game.
I really appreciate the design insights from Leo, and great questions and comment from Gerry. It seems like a great different addition to the game.
very well-designed faction, minis look outstanding
this game has improved so much since it first started, the minis look great
Can’t wait to see the aestethics for earth elemental stuff.
Looking forward to seeing what the design ideas behind these were.
Very cool and instructive to catch a glimpse of the design process!
Really interesting video. Thanks
The Conquest range of models is most definitely going from strength to strength and the Sorcerer Kings have a very unique feel to them. I think they are my favourite aesthetically followed by the City States and then Old Dominion. I really wanted to like the Dino riders, turns out I liked the dinosaurs but wasn’t blown away by the look of the models riding them.
The Sorcerer Kings however, so far I’ve loved all the models, which is pretty rare in any game.
Amazing insight into the design of the playstyle of this wonderful faction
comment to win – plain and simple
its nice to see how much for thought goes into a game design
it’s the weirder factions that add character to this game … sorcerer kings are definitely on that ‘weird’ side of things.
I just watched this video over on YouTube, it’s awesome to be able to get an interview with the designer.
They sound fabulous to game with.
the designs are a welcome change from the usual standard fantasy ideas
Loving the themes behind them
The faction has so many unique types of units and figures, but they all blend together well as a force.
Great looking Army
I like the sound of rituals in game
Really like how they have differentiated them from other factions, really unique!
